"Welcome to hell, Mi bella prisionera," I whispered, my breath dancing across her ear, as she sobbed uncontrollably, her gaze fixed on the floor. Her tears fell like autumn rain, each drop piercing my heart like a splinter, infecting me with a pain I couldn't comprehend. It was as if her anguish had awakened a sleeping volcano within me, its molten lava coursing through my veins, scorching my soul. I felt my resolve crumbling, my fortress of indifference breached by the tidal wave of her despair. The cries that shook her fragile frame resonated deep within me, echoing the turmoil that ravaged my own heart.
Looking at her, I felt the weight of a thousand knives twisting in my chest, each blade etched with memories of my own darkness. Her pain was a mirror reflecting my own, and I couldn't bear the sight. I tore my gaze away, fearing that if I looked any longer, I'd shatter like fragile glass, revealing the cracks in my armour.
"Meet your family for the last time," I growled, my voice a mask for the turmoil within. I couldn't risk surrendering to the anguish that threatened to consume me, couldn't let her see the vulnerability I'd kept hidden for so long.
As Ruhanika embraced Akshita, I watched with a mix of emotions. Akshita's innocent love was a stark contrast to the dark world I'd dragged Ruhanika into.
Akshita's eyes sparkled with tears as she ran towards me, demanding I kneel down. I hesitated, but her determined gaze made me surrender.
"Why did you try to shoot me?" she asked, her tiny fists clenched.
I chuckled, ruffling her hair, "You're fearless, aren't you?" She pouted, pecking my cheek, and I felt a pang of affection.
"Will you be my boyfriend, pretty please?" she asked, eyes fixed on my bike.
I laughed, "I'm already taken, little one. I'm married to your sister."
Akshita's grin faltered for a moment before she asked, "Will you take care of Ruhu didi?" Her pinky finger extended, awaiting my promise. I glanced at Ruhanika, who watched us with tears-stained cheeks. Memories of my father's heart attack resurfaced, fueling my possessiveness.
"No one will dare hurt her," I vowed, my gaze locking onto Akshita.
But in the shadows of my mind, a sinister voice whispered, "Except me."
Akshita's smile was oblivious to the darkness within me. As Ruhanika hugged her family taking her time.
Rahul approached her, his hand reaching out to wipe away her tears, a primal fury ignited within me. Mine. She was mine. I couldn't bear the thought of anyone else comforting her, touching her. My arms circled her waist, fingers digging into her skin, nails biting into her flesh. Ruhanika's eyes widened, her body tensing against mine.
