"Guys, we're still here," Vivaan said, teasing both of us, and I blushed, hiding my face on Rudra's chest. His warmth and scent enveloped me, making me feel safe and cherished. Rudra's arms tightened around me, his fingers tracing gentle patterns on my skin.
"So what?" Rudra replied proudly, circling his arms around my waist. "She's my wife; I can kiss her." I felt a flutter in my chest at his words, his possessiveness thrilling me. I loved the way he claimed me as his own.
"Rudra...my mother?" I questioned him, concern etched on my face. Rudra's expression turned sceptical, but he kissed my forehead reassuringly. "She's okay, my love," he said. "I've already shifted her under my protection, with guards. Don't worry." I smiled, relief washing over me.
But suddenly, darkness crept in, and my vision blurred. I tried to speak, but my words slurred. My legs gave way, and I felt myself slipping away. Rudra's arms tightened around me, holding me close. "Ruhanika! No! Ruhanika!" he screamed. Everything went black.
I felt myself sinking into unconsciousness, my body weakening. Rudra's voice was the last thing I heard, his panic-stricken tone echoing in my mind. I tried to respond, but my lips wouldn't move. My eyes wouldn't open. The darkness persisted, and I remained lost in the void.
I opened my eyes with difficulty, grogginess clinging to me like a shroud. Strong hands wrapped around me, helping me sit up. I smiled, my eyes still closed, knowing those hands belonged to Rudra.
As I opened my eyes slowly, Rudra's worried face came into focus. His eyes scanned mine, searching for reassurance. He held my hand tightly, his fingers intertwined with mine, and cupped my face with his other hand.
"Tum thik ho?" he questioned, his voice laced with concern. I nodded, my throat dry.
"Jaan he nikal di thi tumne meri," he exclaimed, exhaling a deep breath. His words sent a flutter through me
(You took away my life)
Rudra handed me a glass of water, helping me take small sips. I drank slowly, my eyes locked on his face. His expression was disturbed, but he quickly composed himself.
"I've already ordered dinner for us," he said calmly. "We're staying beside the hospital, so we can keep an eye on your mother."
He settled beside me without another word, his silence unsettling. No warm smiles, no loving gazes, no tender touch, not calling me rooh.Just a calm, collected Rudra.
I frowned, sensing something amiss. Where was the passion, the love, the fun loving rudra that usually radiated from him?
"Rudra?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
He looked at me, his eyes softening. For a moment, I saw the Rudra I knew - the one who loved me fiercely.
But the moment passed, and his mask slipped back into place.
