I pick up my phone to answer it.
Paul.
"Merry Christmas Paul!" I say.
"Nina! Phoebe..." Paul can't catch his breath.
"Paul? What is it?" I ask.
"Nina it's time!" Paul screams.
"It's time..the baby? Oh my god!" I say.
"Ian!" I yell.
"Are you heading to the hospital?" I ask Paul.
"Yeah we are about to leave!" Paul says.
"Okay we will be there soon!" I say and hang up.
Ian comes running to me.
"Phoebe is in labor!" I throw my arms around him.
"She is?!" Ian says.
"W heave to get to the hospital." I say.
My mom comes into the hall.
"What's with all the screaming?" She asks.
"Mom! Phoebe is in labor. We promised Paul and Phoebe we'd be there at the hospital..I know it's Christmas, but do you care if we go?" I ask her.
"Go on sweety. She was there with you." Mom smiles.
"I'll take care of Harlow." She says.
"Okay! Thank you mom! I'll call you when the baby is born." I say.
Ian and I throw our shoes and coats on and I grab my purse.

We run into the hospital and onto the elevator.
"I can't believe this is happening." I say to Ian.
"This will be us again in July." He smiles.
"I can't believe that either." I say and grab his hand.
The elevator doors open and we step out.
"This way." I drag Ian by his arm.
I hear Phoebe scream.
"Shit." I say and run into the room.
"Nina!" Phoebe says.
"I'm here!" I walk over to her and kiss her forehead.
Paul hugs me.
"The doctor is coming back in. I get to start pushing." Phoebe says.
"Paul you hanging in there?" Ian asks.
"I'm hanging." Paul says.
The doctor returns.
"Phoebe are they staying? If not they need to step out so we can get started." The doctor says and smiles at us.
"Uhm, Nina. You can stay." Phoebe says to me and grabs my hand.
I look at Ian.
"I'll wait out there." Ian says and smiles and walks out to the hall.
"Okay Phoebe. I want you to give me a nice little push." The doctor says.
Paul holds phoebes hand tight.
Phoebe pushes and lays her head back.
"Good! The baby's head is right here." The doctor says.
Paul leans over to look.
