Lisa's POV
"Lisa" she mentioned my name in the middle of the silence and I just "hummn" in response.
" about my sudden disappearance. " She took a deep breath . "after I graduated, my father had a heart attack, I don't have money to pay for the hospital bills, doctor's fee and all his medicines at that time . I was so desperate to save him that made me accept the offer his doctor to me." She sighed.
" what did the doctor offer you?" I frowned. " and why didn't you tell me?" I know that my father's support is not enough to help her but at least I can help to lessen her worries.
"because I know that you will do anything to help me. I am so shy because you have helped me a lot and besides, someone made me a good offer that I didn't think twice about accepting and that was to marry his friend." She responded weakly.
I'm not surprised that she's already married, hello, she's already 30 , the only thing I didn't like was that she disappeared like a bubble and I don't have any idea of what was happening.
Hyunji and I almost went crazy, looking for her but we didn't see her, even her father disappeared like a bubble.
"So you cut off your communication with me just because you got married? I wish you had told me, Jennie. I'm your best friend. Do you know that Me and Hyunji almost went crazy thinking about what happened to you?" I responded coldly in disappointment .
Her reason for her sudden disappearance drove me mad not because she got married but because she seems to have thrown away our three years of our friendship
and Hyunji, who was her girlfriend at the time, almost lost herself just because she can't find her, now I kept wondering what her reaction would be when she found out that her girlfriend suddenly disappeared to marry someone else, I feel sorry for her.
"sorry." She cried.
ohh fuck she is crying, Until now I still hate seeing her cry.
"I'm just preoccupied with what is happening , Lisa, my father's condition became serious and suddenly the wedding happened , after the wedding, my father died. I don't know what to do, I am committed to the marriage deal. I'm embarrassed to communicate with you and Hyunji because I feel like I'm no longer me, I am not a sensible woman, I sold myself to a rich man just to make money. I cheated on my girlfriend." I wiped away her tears.
"why would you think that? You only did that for your father, why should you be embarrassed ? I think you'll forget that your best friend is a fucktard and an asshole, there's nothing worse than what I'm doing, Jennie ." and yes, what I said worked to make her feel better, she giggled and hit me on the chest. "But as for Hyunji, I don't know but for sure she has the right to feel bad because we all know how much she loves you."
"I know, and you also know that I love her too, Lisa, but the only thing that mattered to me at that time was my father's life, so even against my will, I did what I thought was right to save him." my best friend went through a lot.
Jennie and Hyunji had a beautiful relationship back then and I feel bad about what happened to them because I was with them on the journey of their relationship.
"So, how is married life?" I changed our topic to lighten the mood.
We got up from lying on the sand and sat down but I was startled when she leaned her head on my shoulder.
