Eugene wasted no time in returning to Rapunzel with the letter. They met in the castle's stables, away from prying eyes and ears. Rapunzel's face paled as she read the letter, her hands trembling slightly.
"He's going to betray Anna," she whispered, horrified. "He's using her to get to the throne."
Eugene nodded grimly. "And he's closer than we thought. If we don't stop him soon, he could end up manipulating his way into power before anyone realizes what's happening."
Rapunzel's mind raced. "We have to tell Anna. We have to stop this before it's too late."
Eugene hesitated. "She's not going to believe us, not without more proof. Hans has her completely wrapped around his finger."
Rapunzel bit her lip, her stomach twisting in knots. She knew Eugene was right. Anna had been blind to every warning sign so far, and Hans had been nothing but perfect in her eyes. Convincing her to break off the engagement, or even to question Hans' motives, would be nearly impossible without concrete evidence.
But they had to try. Time was running out, and Hans was growing bolder with each passing day.
Rapunzel straightened her shoulders, determination hardening her expression. "We'll get the proof. Whatever it takes, we'll expose Hans for who he really is. I'm not letting Anna fall into his trap."
Eugene smiled at her fierceness. "That's the spirit, Blondie. Let's bring this guy down."
