Marissa and Kevin stood outside the school gates, their bags slung over their shoulders, ready to head off for their first day of training. The sun hung high in the blue sky, casting long shadows as the afternoon stretched on.

Marissa could barely contain her excitement, practically skipping beside a much calmer, bored-looking Kevin. "What are we going to do first? A 100-meter dash? A marathon?" she squealed; her voice full of enthusiasm.

Kevin glanced at her, clearly uninterested in matching her energy. "Did you bring an outfit for training?" he asked, dodging her questions.

"Yep!" Marissa beamed, patting her bag. "I'm all set and one hundred per cent ready for my first-ever training session!"

Kevin nodded, mildly impressed by her preparation. "So, are we heading to your place so we can change?"

"No," Marissa answered awkwardly, her energy dimming for a moment. "I don't want my parents to know about this new... hobby."

Kevin raised an eyebrow at her sudden change in tone. "Shouldn't they know? Aren't they supposed to be supportive or something?" His voice was flat but carried a hint of curiosity.

"Nope." Marissa shrugged nonchalantly, quickly shifting the conversation. "Let's go to your house instead. You still have that pool, right?" Her excitement returned in full force.

Kevin rolled his eyes at her antics. "This is track training, not swimming," he reminded her dryly.

Marissa huffed, dramatically pouting in response. "Where exactly are we going to train, anyway? Your house is big, but I don't remember seeing a track course there."

"Don't worry about it," Kevin said, offering a small smile. "I've got a place in mind."

Marissa and Kevin stood in front of a large house with a yard filled with tall oak trees, vibrant flowers, and crops, with insects buzzing around. The peaceful scene was covered by tall iron bars acting as a barrier to the road. In the middle of the garden, there was a large fountain with water spilling from it, adding an elegant touch to the yard.

The house itself stood tall, constructed from aged brick and stones. Vines hung on the wall of the house, allowing for a pop of colour in the dark house. The window placed on the wall was long and elegant, providing a place to hang flowers and lanterns. The door stood in the middle of the house, tall and dark. A young man wearing a suit stood by the door, his stance serious and welcoming.

Kevin led Marissa through the yard. The girl was distracted by the flowers and trees, her attention drifting as she stared at the scene in awe.

'They now have a garden and a fountain,' Marissa wondered, her face clearly showing her curiosity.

"Sir Kevin, you've brought a guest," the young man asked, standing by the door with his eyes drifting to Marissa.

"Do you not remember her?" Kevin asked blankly as he glanced at the distracted Marissa.
