That night, I was surprised when Levin's friends arrived at our mansion. They looked so happy, greeting me with warm smiles and cheerful chatter.

“Hey, Sylverine! Long time no see!” one of them called out, and I couldn’t help but feel a bit overwhelmed.

Hindi ako sanay sa ganito. The last time I had seen them, things were so different. My mind drifted back to my confrontation with Fara, the fierce rivalry we had endured.

“Nanalalo ako sa kanya noon…” I thought, recalling the intensity of our battles. I could still remember the thrill of victory, but I also remembered the tension between us.

Now, looking at Fara, I was taken aback. She was still her feisty self, but there was something genuine about her demeanor.

“Still so fiery, but not plastic,” I noted, feeling a strange mix of emotions.

“Sylverine! Come join us!” another friend chimed in, pulling me into the lively atmosphere. They were all so welcoming, and despite my initial hesitation, I found myself smiling back at them.

As the night went on, I started to relax, laughing and sharing stories. Their energy was contagious, and I realized how much I had missed this kind of camaraderie.

“Maybe I could get used to this,” I thought, glancing at Levin, who was chatting with some of his friend.

In that moment, surrounded by the warmth of friendship and the joy of connection, I felt a sense of belonging that I hadn’t anticipated. It was a reminder that life could be unpredictable but also beautiful.

I stood frozen when I saw Levin's mother at the door, accompanied by another woman. I caught a glimpse from the corner of my eye, noticing that they were looking into their direction.

“T-tita?” I heard Darlen murmur, confusion lacing her voice. My gaze remained fixed on the two women at the entrance.

“Camille,” I heard the name slip from Dariel’s mouth, and instantly, my mood shifted to serious. So this is Camille—his ex-fiancée? What are they doing here? The sudden tension in the room was palpable, and I could feel my heart racing.

I looked at Levin, searching for his reaction, but he was just as taken aback as I was.

“Why now?” I thought, frustration bubbling beneath the surface.

As Camille stepped further into the room, I couldn’t help but notice her confident demeanor and the way she carried herself. She was beautiful, no doubt, and I could see why Levin had once been drawn to her. But now, I felt a rush of protectiveness for what I had with him.

“What does she want?” I whispered to myself, my mind racing with questions and insecurities. The warmth and joy of the night suddenly felt distant as I braced myself for whatever confrontation lay ahead.

Anong kailangang nila? Kung ano ang plano nila...ang masasabi ko lang ay hindi ito maganda.

“Levin,” his mother spoke, her voice cutting through the tension in the room. “I want Camille to live with you.” My brows shot up at her words, disbelief flooding my system.

𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘣𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘯𝘪 𝘓𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯? I thought, my heart racing. I was still here; his wife was here.

“Why here? Don’t you see my wife? Do you really expect Camille to live here with us? With my wife?” Levin replied, his tone laced with irritation. I could sense the frustration radiating off him, and it only added to the tension hanging in the air.
