Izuku and Kyoka were walking together through the bustling streets, enjoying a rare moment of calm between training and preparation for the U.A. Entrance Exam. The evening air was crisp, and Kyoka was teasing Izuku about his tendency to overthink everything.
Kyoka, {grinning teasingly}: "Hero boy, you've been staring off into space for five minutes. Planning your grocery list or saving the world again?"
Izuku chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head.
Izuku, {blushing slightly}: "I guess I'm just... thinking about the exam. It's a lot of pressure."
Before Kyoka could respond with another playful jab, a shadow zipped across the sky, descending swiftly toward them. In an instant, the familiar figure of Hawks, the No. 3 Pro Hero, landed gracefully a few feet away, his red wings folding back as he straightened up.
Hawks, {with a cool smirk}: "Well, well, if it isn't the rising star, Oneforce"
Izuku blinked in surprise, his heart skipping a beat. It wasn't every day a top pro like Hawks showed up out of nowhere. He quickly composed himself, though the nervous energy was still there.
Izuku, {politely}: "H-Hawks! What brings you here?"
Kyoka raised an eyebrow, eyeing Hawks with mild curiosity but keeping her usual cool demeanor.
Kyoka, {crossing her arms}: "This isn't a fan meet-and-greet, is it?"
Hawks chuckled, clearly amused by her bluntness.
Hawks, {grinning}: "Nah, nothing like that. I'm here on behalf of the Madam President of the Hero Public Safety Commission. She has a message for you, Izuku Midoriya."
Izuku's heart raced as Hawks handed him a small, sealed envelope. Kyoka glanced at him, her teasing smile fading as she noticed his tension. Hawks, however, continued speaking, his tone casual but the message clearly important.
Hawks, {calmly but seriously}: "She's impressed with what you've done so far, Midoriya. Between your training with Crust and your work as Oneforce, you've made a name for yourself. So much so, in fact, that she wants to make you a full-fledged pro hero—right now."
Izuku's eyes widened in shock, and even Kyoka looked surprised by the sudden offer. The weight of the words hit him hard. Becoming a pro hero now? Before even taking the U.A. Entrance Exam? It was everything he had ever dreamed of. Yet, something felt... off. He opened the envelope and quickly skimmed the letter, his heart sinking slightly.
There were conditions.
The Madam President of the HPSC wanted to make him a pro hero, but under their terms. He would be under their watch, heavily regulated, and his movements as a hero would be controlled by the Commission. It was a way for them to harness his potential, yes—but it was also a way for them to control him and powerful Quirk.
Izuku glanced at Kyoka, who gave him a supportive but knowing look. She didn't say anything, but he could tell she understood what was going through his mind. They had talked about this before—about how dangerous it could be to give away too much control over his life, especially to the HPSC.
Taking a deep breath, Izuku folded the letter and handed it back to Hawks.
Izuku, {politely but firmly}: "Please thank the Madam President for her offer. But... I have to decline."
Hawks blinked, clearly not expecting that answer.
Hawks, {surprised}: "You're turning down a chance to become a pro hero right now? You know this doesn't come around often, right?"
Izuku nodded, his expression calm but resolute.
Izuku, {seriously}: "I know it's a huge opportunity, but I want to take the U.A. exam and do this the right way. I don't want to skip steps or give up control of my path as a hero. It's important to me to earn it on my terms."
Kyoka smirked a little, clearly proud of him for standing his ground. Hawks, on the other hand, stared at Izuku for a moment before letting out a small chuckle, shaking his head.
Hawks, {grinning}: "I've got to admit, I wasn't expecting that. Most kids your age would jump at this chance. But I get it. You're not most kids."
He ruffled his feathers slightly, stepping back as he prepared to leave.
Hawks, {respectfully}: "I'll pass the message along. Just know that the Commission's still got their eye on you, Midoriya. You've impressed a lot of people."
With a final nod, Hawks took off into the sky, disappearing into the horizon. Izuku let out a deep breath, feeling the weight lift off his shoulders. He turned to Kyoka, who gave him a playful nudge.
Kyoka, {smirking}: "Look at you, hero boy, turning down the No. 3 hero and the HPSC like it's no big deal."
Izuku laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
Izuku, {blushing}: "I-I just felt like it wasn't right. I need to do this my way."
Kyoka smiled, her eyes softening as she looked at him.
Kyoka, {softly}: "And that's why you're going to be a great hero."

Later, Hawks landed back at the HPSC headquarters, where the Madam President was waiting in her office. She was an imposing figure, her sharp eyes narrowing slightly as Hawks approached.
Madam President, {calmly}: "Did he accept?"
Hawks shook his head, his wings folding neatly behind him as he leaned against her desk.
Hawks, {smiling wryly}: "Nope. Politely declined. Said he wants to do things his way—wants to earn it through U.A. instead of skipping ahead."
The Madam President sighed but didn't seem overly surprised. She leaned back in her chair, steepling her fingers as she thought for a moment.
Madam President, {calmly}: "He's more independent than I thought. That's fine. There will be other opportunities. We'll keep an eye on him."
Hawks nodded, understanding what she meant. Izuku Midoriya wasn't just any young hero in training. He was a legend in the making, a legend that the HPSC clearly wanted a hand in controlling. But for now, it seemed that Oneforce was determined to chart his own course.
Hawks, {grinning slightly}: "Yeah, kid's got guts. Let's see how far that takes him."
The Madam President's gaze remained sharp, but a small smile played on her lips as she glanced out the window.
Madam President, {murmuring to herself}: "Indeed. We'll see."

Izuku walked through the front door of his home, exhausted but content after another intense day of training. He was looking forward to a quiet evening, maybe catching up on some homework, and spending time with his mom. But as soon as he stepped into the living room, he froze in his tracks with his eyes widening in disbelief.
Sitting at the small table in the middle of the room were two very familiar figures. One was a man with messy, dark hair, a tired expression, and a long scarf wrapped around his neck—Eraserhead, the underground pro hero. The other figure, sitting on a cushion with perfect posture, was... well, it was hard to say exactly what he was. Mouse? Dog? Bear? No. It was none other than Principal Nezu, the brilliant and enigmatic head of U.A. High School.
Izuku's mother, Inko, was seated with them, offering tea with a warm smile, completely at ease as if this was the most normal thing in the world.
Izuku, {shocked, stammering}: "E-Eraserhead?! Principal Nezu?! What—what are you doing here?!"
Inko turned to face him with a smile, gesturing for him to come over.
Inko, {cheerfully}: "Izuku, you're home! We have guests. Come sit, dear."
Eraserhead gave Izuku a tired nod, his half-lidded eyes as calm as ever.
Eraserhead, {casually}: "Hey, kid. Nice place you've got here."
Principal Nezu took a delicate sip of his tea, his beady eyes twinkling with amusement as he looked up at Izuku.
Principal Nezu, {politely}: "Ah, Midoriya! It's good to finally meet you in person. We've heard many things about your progress from Crust. Please, join us. We have an offer to discuss."
Izuku, still processing the surreal scene, quickly took a seat, his heart pounding in his chest. His mind raced with a hundred questions, but he kept his focus on the two heroes. What could U.A.'s principal and Eraserhead possibly want from him?
As soon as he sat down, Principal Nezu leaned forward, folding his small paws neatly in front of him.
Principal Nezu, {pleasantly}: "As you know, the U.A. Entrance Exam is approaching quickly. You've already proven yourself to be quite exceptional in your training and sidekick work under Crust."
Izuku swallowed nervously, nodding as he listened intently. He hadn't expected to hear this kind of praise from U.A.'s principal.
Izuku, {modestly}: "T-Thank you, sir. I'm just doing my best."
Eraserhead glanced at Principal Nezu, then back at Izuku, his tone dry but serious.
Eraserhead, {calmly}: "We're not here just to compliment you, Midoriya. We've been watching your progress, and we think you're ready for something more challenging."
Izuku blinked in surprise. More challenging? What could they mean?
Principal Nezu continued, his voice soft but filled with certainty.
Principal Nezu, {gently}: "We would like to offer you the opportunity to work as a teacher's assistant at U.A. while you complete your classes. You'd be assisting in practical training exercises for first-year students and working closely with several of our instructors, including Mr. Aizawa here."
Izuku's eyes widened in shock. Him? A teacher's assistant? It was an honor he hadn't even considered. He was still preparing to take the U.A. Entrance Exam, and now they were offering him a role that would put him in direct involvement with the teachers?
Izuku, {shocked}: "M-Me? A teacher's assistant? But I'm not even a full-fledged student yet!"
Eraserhead shrugged, leaning back in his chair.
Eraserhead, {nonchalantly}: "You'd still be a student, taking all your regular classes. This wouldn't change that. But we think you've got the potential to help other students grow. And besides, it'll give you more experience in a teaching environment, which could be helpful for you down the road."
Principal Nezu's eyes twinkled with excitement as he added,
Principal Nezu, {smiling}: "It's a unique opportunity, Midoriya. You'd still go through the entrance exam like everyone else, but with the skills you've demonstrated, we feel you can handle both roles. You've shown great leadership in your sidekick work, and we believe you can continue to inspire others."
Izuku's mind raced. This was a huge responsibility, but also an incredible chance to gain experience not only as a hero but as a leader. He thought of the first-year students he could help, the impact he could make by using what he'd learned under Crust and from his own journey with One For All.
He glanced at his mother, who gave him a reassuring smile, her eyes full of pride.
Inko, {gently}: "Izuku, whatever you decide, I know you'll make the right choice."
Izuku took a deep breath, then turned back to Principal Nezu and Eraserhead, determination settling in his eyes.
Izuku, {confidently}: "I'll do it. I accept the offer."
Principal Nezu clapped his paws together, his smile widening.
Principal Nezu, {cheerfully}: "Wonderful! I knew you'd say yes. We'll make the necessary arrangements, and you'll begin your role as a teacher's assistant once the school year starts. It'll be a rewarding experience, I'm sure."
Eraserhead stood up, stretching slightly as he prepared to leave.
Eraserhead, {nodding}: "Welcome aboard, Midoriya. You'll do fine."
As the two heroes made their way to the door, Izuku stood up to see them off, still trying to process everything that had just happened. It wasn't what he expected when he came home, but it felt like another step forward in his journey.
As Principal Nezu and Eraserhead left the house, Izuku turned to his mother, a smile slowly spreading across his face.
Izuku, {gratefully}: "Mom... I can't believe this is happening."
Inko hugged him tightly, her voice full of warmth.
Inko, {proudly}: "You've earned it, Izuku. I'm so proud of you."
Izuku smiled, feeling a wave of gratitude wash over him. This was just the beginning of a new chapter in his life, and he was ready for whatever came next.
