The ultimatum: one shots

Aidans shot appointment

"oh babe Aidan has an appointment today, I was supposed to take him but you know, I've been called in for that murder case" Lucy tells Tim as she rushes around the house to collect her things.
"what appointment?" Tim asks helping the twins put their shoes on.

"Oh you know.." Lucy shrugs, Aidan had an appointment for shots, he was one and a half. He had many appointments for shots when he was a newborn but Lucy always took him. This was Tim's first time taking him to a shot appointment. Lucy couldn't make it today however as all detectives were called in, all detectives had to be hands on deck, Tim had a day off so he was free for taking Aidan.

"please don't say it's for shots. I can't watch him get them done..." He sighs and Lucy smiles.

"Well it's a good thing he had his daddy isn't it?" Lucy smiles walking over to Tim and kissing him.
"He's going to think I'm the bad guy for making him go through all this pain Luce! I can't, he hates me already..I can't have him hate me more." Tim shakes his head, grabbing the twins jackets.

"Babe.. You aren't the bad guy you know they are for his own good. Come on kids, time for school" Lucy smiles shouting of the twins as she was taking them to school that morning, she says bye to Tim and Aidan on her way out.

Tim sighs when they leave and turns to Aidan who was sat in his high chair eating fruit and dry cereal.
"Looks like it's just us two bud." He sighs.
"No." Aidan replies eating cereal.

"Aidan we have no choice buddy. Come on let's get you cleaned up and changed okay?" Tim says walking over to Aidan and picking him up and taking him to the nursery.

He gets Aidan ready, packs his diaper bag, and heads to the appointment.

Tim didn't know who cried more during that appointment, him or Aidan.

Probably Tim.

"I am so sorry buddy they hurt you like that but it had to be done" Tim coos as they leave the doctors.
Aidan just kept whimpering.

"I am so sorry. It hurt me more than you." Tim says wiping a tear.
"Ouchie" Aidan mumbles into Tim's shoulder.

"I know buddy. I am not the bad guy, don't hate me even more." Tim says strapping him into his car seat.
"no! fuck you!" Aidan kicks in his car seat and refuses to be strapped in.

Tim sighs, he is never taking Aidan for a needle appointment ever again.
"No Aidan. We do not say that" Tim scolds his son.
Aidan bursts into more tears and a bigger meltdown..Tim was ready to have one himself.

He sighs "why don't we get you some toys huh? Or icecream??"  Tim bribes and Aidan calms down.
"Ice cweamm?" Aidan asks with a snotty teary face.

"yes kiddo. Icecream." Tim sighs and Aidan lets Tim strap him in.

They go and grab an ice cream (they share as Aidan is too small to have a full one) and Tim takes him home and he falls straight to sleep, he was probably exhausted due to all the crying, tears and pain.

Tim falls on the couch and lets out a big sigh, today had been awful.

He checks the time and Lucy should be on a break, he calls her.
"Hey babe how did aidans appointment go?" She answered.
"don't even ask." Tim replies.
"That bad huh?" She laughs.

"Yes! I started crying in that room Lucy! How did you get him to stay calm every time you took him?!" He snaps.
"Put cartoons on your phone, he gets distracted. He doesn't even feel it." Lucy laughs.
"You're kidding me.  I've just bought him an icecream. We both had meltdowns in the doctor's parking lot for twenty minutes! Why didn't you tell me" Tim sighs.

"You never asked. Atleast you know now" Lucy laughs through the phone.
"No. Lucy I am absolutely not taking him again." Tim laughs back.

"Whoops babe I'm being called back to a scene, see you later. Sorry about your painful day" Lucy laughs and hangs up.
Tim sighs and rubs his face, that kid still hates him.
