I Always Knew This Would Happen

Lucy:

I turn in bed onto my opposite side, face-to-face with Tim. I smile as I see his eyes closed and his body shifting ever so slightly with each breath he takes. I lie there for a few minutes thinking about how lucky I am to have him when his alarm starts blaring out of his phone. Grunting he opens an eye and presses stop on his phone. Turning back towards me he says "Good morning" with a smile on his face. "Hi!" I reply with. Tim puts a hand on my cheek and pulls me closer and into a sweet kiss. 

Tim:

As we pull out of our kiss I look into her eyes and see a hint of worry and fear. "Hey, you ok? What's up?" I say.

"Um, it's silly. But um, are we going to tell everyone today?" she says nodding towards her engagement ring and I warmly smile at her. "If you would like to, then yeah," She nods back at me giving me an answer. "Right now I'm going to have a shower, care to join me?" She doesn't respond but gets out of bed and makes her way over to the bathroom with a smirk on her face. 

Third Person:

An hour later the couple are locking up their front door and making their way to Tim's truck. As they both get settled into the car Tim starts to drive to the station. He places one hand on Lucy's thigh and she accepts it happily placing her hand on top. "You nervous?" he asks her. 

"No... but Ange is going to freak out," She says with a wide grin on her face. 

"Yep," Tim says shaking his head while chuckling. The truck pulls into the stations car park and they come to a stop. Both unbuckling their seat belts Tim quickly kiss Lucy one last time before work and she smiles back gratefully. Giving Lucy's hand one more squeeze, Tim opens his car door and steps out. They meet around the back of the truck taking her hand, they begin walking inside. They had arrived a little bit early in hopes to share the news with their closest friends before their shifts start. Walking towards the locker rooms to get changed the couple is surprised to see all of their friends close by. Splitting up they gather their friends consisting of Lopex, Harper, Grey, Nolan, Juarez, and Thorson. "Ok, so um we have some news to share" Tim starts by saying. Lucy takes a deep breath then sticks up her hand and says excitedly, "were engaged!". 

"Ahhh" Angela squeaks grabbing a hold of Lucy's hand, "damn Bradford's got game" earning an eye roll from Tim however he still smiles. Angela pulls Lucy into a tight hug while Grey pats Tim on the back and says "I always knew this would happen, I'm glad you two are happy,". When Angela finally pulls away she hugs Tim and says "don't screw this up" quietly in his ear. Nyla hugs Lucy and says "congratulations" and Aaron fist bumps Tim. The rest of the group says congratulations to the both of them and after a while everyone heads into the locker rooms to get changed into uniform. 

Lucy:

After putting my uniform on my former roommate, Celina comes up to me and hugs me. "I had been feeling this engagement for a while now! Bradford is a lucky man," 

"Thank you," Lucy says with a large smile.

Third Person:

For the rest of the day Lucy was riding with Angela and the mood was light and the constant topic of discussion was the engagement, marriage and anything to do woth chenford's future together!
