A/n: This is just short stories about little things they do for each other due to their hectic lives and jobs.
1.
Tim's alarm dinged from his phone at the early hour of the morning. He turned swiftly to turn off his alarm, careful to not wake up Lucy, laying in bed beside him. He was on the morning shift and hers started a couple hours after. He got changed into his regular clothes and headed to the kitchen. He poured coffee into two thermos' and added milk to both. Writing on a sticky note "Have a great day, I love you" and placing it and the coffee on the counter for Lucy when she wakes up.
2.
Tim pulls into the carpark, hand on Lucy's thigh. As they get out of the car, they meet around the back. Tim pulls her gently into a hug, wrapping one arm around her back and the other around her head. "Be safe, please, I love you" Lucy whispers into Tim. \
"I'm always safe. I love you too, be careful," Tim says into her head.
3.
After a particularly tough shift, Lucy found Tim sitting alone on the in his office, staring off into the distance. She walked over, sensing he needed a moment. Without saying a word, she walked up closer to his desk, her presence a calming force. "Rough day?" she asked softly. Tim sighed, standing up and moving close to her, leaning against her. "Yeah, just feeling a bit overwhelmed." Lucy rested her head on his shoulder, offering silent support. "You're doing your best, and that's all that matters," she said, and Tim felt the tension in his chest start to ease. They sat in comfortable silence, the world around them fading away as they found solace in each other's company.
4.
During a long shift, Tim's phone buzzed with a text from Lucy. 'Thinking of you! Hope you're holding up okay.' He couldn't help but smile at her thoughtfulness. He quickly replied, 'Just counting down the minutes until I can see you. Love you'
Minutes later, his phone buzzed again. 'Love you too Can't wait to hear all about your day!' In the midst of the chaos, those small exchanges brought him comfort, a reminder that even when they were apart, they were still connected.
5.
It was a rare evening off for both of them, and the quiet of their apartment felt almost foreign after the hustle of the precinct. Tim sat on the couch, flipping through channels while Lucy sat nearby, curled up with a book. After a few minutes, he glanced over at her, noticing how she was completely absorbed in her story. He loved these quiet moments together, where they didn't have to be "officers" or deal with the chaos of their jobs. "Hey, what are you reading?" Tim asked, breaking the silence. Lucy looked up, her face lighting up. "It's a mystery novel. You'd love it! The plot twist is insane!"
"Sounds like something I'd get sucked into," he replied, leaning back and stretching his arms. "Care to share some spoilers?"
She laughed and tossed a pillow at him. "Not a chance! You'll have to read it yourself."
Tim chuckled and reached for the remote, settling on a documentary about crime investigations. As the narration began, he felt Lucy shift closer, resting her head on his shoulder. "This is nice," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, it is," Tim agreed, wrapping his arm around her. They sat in comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company, the worries of the world outside forgotten for a while. In that moment, Tim realized how much he cherished these simple evenings—where the most significant thing was being together, sharing laughter and love in their little bubble of comfort.
