Victun's point of view, at the same time, at the end of chapter 4...

Ever since Alynx compromised my mission, I have been tasked to deal with the clean-up of my failed mission.

A few hours after killing Alynx, I had to kill a detective that threatened to reveal who was behind the attack, so I can make sure that I was the detective and can get away for the crime I necessary needed to do to cover up my plot.

I also had to write a persuasive speech about Alynx and bribed her parents with a convincingly emotional conversation whilst visiting them in their apartment in which they invited me to the funeral, which was held two days later.

I was then able to give a convincing performance, and some people even apologised to me with what happened to Alynx.

Then, after a week of radio silence, my employer then called me up whilst I was looking for a show on Cityflix.

I answered the call via my phone and used Bluetooth to put the dark figured robot into my TV screen.

The dark figured robot had a hexagonal head with a cannon mounted on, a hexagonal body, legs, and feet that would closely resemble to a bird and rectangular wings with arms and hands attached to the wings.

He unfortunately spoke in beeps to simulate language, but at least he can use the text to speech capabilities that my TV screen had been installed with.

The robot beeped for several seconds whilst the text to speech worked its magic.

The Employer: "I have some good news for you."
I sat up in surprise. Usually, when bad news happens, my employer would give me a pay cut for my blunders, but he hasn't so far.

Not yet anyway.

I spoke to the robot.

Me: "Didn't you say that to kill the three founders of the Freelance Guild so you would enter the market in psychic City? You admitted that the markets in the Lowland kingdom and Steamburg were less busy than Psychic City?"

The Employer: "Yes, that is true, but killing Alynx for discovering your plot to shoot someone as a quick, calculated backup plan. Excellent work, intern."

I was confused because I never thought of a backup plan at all.

The Employer could tell by my emotions using its AI capabilities.

The Employer: "So you haven't come up with a backup plan at the time, or haven't you watched the news."

The Employer then showed the news story that I didn't even know until now of my father in a conference making an announcement about the Alynx murder case and the economic situation that was leaked by a rogue AI accountant.

Boris Jension (in the TV screen): "... I regret to inform Alynx's family that despite a thorough investigation into her murder that all we found was that the shots fired was a glock gun that shot her six times and no suspect due to the detective, Mark Universal, running the investigation at the time gone missing, presumably dead."

The audience from the TV gasped at the shocking conclusion while I was relieved of the clean-up work paying off.

"... Which is why me and the prime minister of Steamburg are having an investigation underway to discover the disappearance of Mark Universal."

The screen paused with my employer appearing in the corner of my TV.

The Employer: "Did you find a suitable place where the detective wouldn't be found?"

Me: "I was able to hide him in his own car under the engine, pretended convincingly to be the detective, and sent his car to a nearby lava lake, so little to no evidence was found."

The Employer displays its creepy yet calming blue pixilated smile.

The Employer: "Good, because I have the juicy part to the good news."

The news story continued.

Boris: "... And addressing the economic issues that are happening at the moment. Documents that reported the status of our economy happened to be leaked by a rogue AI accountant whom we were able to capture and is now undergoing therapy.

From both of the events that have happened, I have been talking to the prime minister for Steamburg and the Royal family of the Lowland kingdom and came to the conclusion that our City's economy is not innovative.

Starting from today, all companies, shopkeepers, and other manufacturers both inside and outside can now enter the Psychic City market.

Me and by party learned that innovation doesn't come from the inside, but also from the outside, so we hope that this will not only make peace with the outside world, but also to all of us."

And with that, Boris Jension, my father, left the conference room alongside the Enforcer, who was my other employer and was protecting my father.

My employer got back to full screen mode.

Me: "I don't get it. Why did my murder against Alynx influence the events to happen."

The Employer: "This happened because Boris was friends with her father, and she was part of the Freelance Guild, so by uniting the family with the work she was doing, Boris had to take action.

So, thanks to you, we have gotten the first phase of our plan sorted. It will take a while to get the second phase ready, so it is best to lay low from my work for a few years, but you'll keep the safehouse under my ownership."

Me: "Thanks for the advice."

The Employer: "And when it's time for phase two to finally happen, I'll call you at an appropriate time since I am always watching you. Understand?"

I smiled with confidence in what he said.

Me: "Understand."

The Employer: "Goodbye for now, Agent."

And so the call ended.

So, I decided to watch the first three episodes of the amazing digital circus in which Cityflix was able to find shows from alternative universes.

I was going to enjoy the next few years...
