Eight days before chapter 6...
Enshi's point of view
My fellow students and I were now in the training dimension where the teacher was holding close quarters fighting and archery lessons there. The teacher, Mr War, an elephant therian, was teaching us individually with our combat training.
So, in my latest head to head fight, Mr War paired me up with the toughest student. He was more bulky than Mr War. He has regeneration and fast reactions.
That student was Andrew Bussin.
The fight began with Andrew going to grab me, but I had two advantages. One was that I was faster than him, and the other involved my eyes.
I have this ability where my eyes will awaken my enhanced senses to know my opponents next moves in the short term, as well as seeing his weaknesses.
His weakness was his brain, which was a source of his regeneration. Now, I needed to trick him into creating an opening so I could finish him off completely.
Now, because of Mr War's teaching on how to fight an opponent, I found it to be very difficult, and not to mention that Mr War usually sets up a 5 minute fight. I could remember the first time he said that.
Mr War: "... The reason why we put this in place is because it will help with your quick yet critical thinking into situations that are going to set up for future problems and threats."
Usually, whenever I'm in close quarters, combat training with one to one fights, I usually take down my opponents within two minutes.Today, with this particular fight, it's been 3 minutes, and Andrew had managed to get a couple of hits whilst he remained untouched.
This was bad because if I don't get to his weak spot soon, he'll win the training match.
So there I am, time moving in slow motion with my opponent heading for a karate chop when I thought of two things I knew about Andrew.
He doesn't like being touched by the legs, and he doesn't like high fives because he is afraid of being infected with the darkness caused by the cursed face or faces.
That was when I dodged another attack, I then had an idea.
Andrew went for another karate chop.
I dodged and high fived him.
He gets freaked out about his hand being touched.
I cut off his right ankle with my golden sword.
He gets even more freaked out and covers his legs.
I went for his head.
Swoosh! Went my sword.
He was beheaded as his head fell forward before his body collapsed backwards.
Mr War then reversed the battle between me and Andrew, bringing us back to our normal state before the battle.
My fellow students were clapping and cheering me on the defeat of Andrew, who was looking embarrassed to himself as Mr War came over to me first.
Mr War: "Enshi Lake Inn! I have noticed that you were checking and attempting to find a weakness to Andrew's regeneration. It was smart of you to take your time whilst quick on your feet. Well done! I shall send you your archery lesson."
Me: "Thank you, Mr War, Best I'll be on my way."
And with that, I left the melee combat hall after my three head to head battles. The first two battles I was battling Phoenix order knights in training...
Andrew Bussin's point of view
Mr War watched as Enshi left the hall before turning to me in a bitter look.
Mr War: "Andrew Bussin! You had a weak spot, which you knew. You dealt a couple of hits that would be enough to distract your opponent..."
I moved back in fear. Mr War walked towards me as he continued to grill me.
Mr War: "... But instead, when your opponent high fived you, you straight up panicked, and when she cut your ankle off clean, you simply covered your legs!"
Me: "But I'm insecure about my hands being touched and my legs being both judged and touched."
Mr War: "NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR LEGS OR YOUR HANDS!! [Takes a breather] Now do me one thing the next time you fight."
I asked him nervously, "What would it be?"
Mr War: "Use all your arms hands feet and legs to fight your opponents, not defending yourself. You may have regeneration, but your head doesn't. UNDERSTAND?!"
I whimpered, "Understood."
Mr War smiled a little bit.
Mr War: "Good! Now wait here and watch the other battles or train yourself. I will call you when your third and final battle of this lesson is ready."
Meanwhile, Enshi's point of view
I took my last shot out of the three shots I took. Unfortunately, the last shot got me 5 points, so if I add 3 points from my first shot, 4 in my second, then I got a total score of 12 points. Far below the average score, then what the mean girl duo that harass me every day.
Those two mean girls, the leader, who has black ponytails, red eyes, a cool black leather dress, and not to mention that she can float using wind power. Her name is Sōsa Akueikyō.
Sōsa's best friend and controlled follower had long bog green hair, sad lightning blue eyes, a pink and black square patterned cotton dress, can read minds, and even teleport. Her name is Maruu~ea Swigyo-ka ni aru.
Maruu~ea whispered to Sōsa in a shy manner before she turned back to be, panicked, and hid behind Sōsa.
Sōsa scowled at me, "Looks like someone... Misfired her shots."
Maruu~ea then started chuckling before she laughed out for a few seconds before they both began to take their turn with archery.
I hated archery. One of my weak spots that gets Sōsa and Maruu~ea to see me fail at and laugh at. This wasn't the first time that happened. It happened when I was six when I got a score of six, my best score ever at the time, with each arrow hitting two. Those two mean girls, however, got their score of 27. All hitting on nines.
They had finished, and they then bullied me and mocked me in front of the older students, and they continued to mock since.
I was heading to where I needed to be seated, away from those mean girls when I accidentally bumped into a 16 year old boy.
This caused the both of us to drop our arrows and bows.
I quickly said in a panicking tone whilst trying to get my arrows and bow quickly and discreetly, "S-s-sorry! Sorry! I di-di-didn't mean to actually bump into you, and - "
The boy: "It's Ok, you didn't mean for that to happen."
I got up with my bow and arrows and let him pass with his arrows and bow, which, during that time, I could possibly hear Maruu~ea creaking her head off with what Chinese whispers she would say about me to her extended friendships.
As I embarrassingly watched as the two mean girls finish their shots which Sōsa got a score of 29, and Maruu~ea got a score of 23, of which she received a slap to the back of her head by Sōsa.
Maruu~ea stumbled forwards before quickly moving back to her seat whilst Sōsa stood behind the firing line with her arms crossed.
The archery teacher, Ms. Speedtail, a blonde yet intimidating woman, then called another inexperienced fighter and the 16 year old boy.
Ms Speedtail: "Theo Coconut Island! Robyn Barry-Cotter! You're up!"
Theo got to the firing line where Ms Speedtail got them to fire.
Robyn next to him fired.
It hit a 9.
Theo adjusted himself for a moment.
Theo took a short breath.
He fired his first arrow.
It hit a 10X.
The crowd roared in sudden excitement.
My mouth dropped.
Robyn nervously fired his second arrow.
It hit a 6.
Both Sōsa and Maruu~ea were shocked by their boyfriend's bad second shot.
Theo loads his second arrow.
He fired again.
Hit a 10 this time.
Another huge cheer.
My eyes were now focused on Theo, and I didn't know what the total score Robyn got.
I focused on Theo as he got his third arrow. I saw him pull the arrow back to an archer pose. He used his right eye to aim at the target.
Then he let got of the string...
... And the arrow split his first arrow in half when it reached the target!
His total score was 30XX. The highest score in school history!
All the girls except Sōsa, Maruu~ea, and me squealed as Theo stowed away his bow. The boys just clapped calmly, but not in a jealous manner, just with respect.
I was admiring how he made those shots with technicality."Enshi?"
I wake back up to reality from my daydream, so see one of my friends, Nicky, look at me. She had gold side bangs, yellow eyes, and golden armour as clothing.
"Are you OK?" Nicky asked.
Me: "Yeah, I'm OK."
Later...
It was now the end of my day at Lavender Village Academy, and it was also Friday.
So I was heading out to go back to my home in Quebrantar when Theo, the archery student from earlier, called for me.
Theo: "Hey, Enshi?"
I stopped whilst I turned to Theo and signalled him to come over, which he did.
Theo: "So there's this village contest happening in Eight where the dark kingdom are defending their village against the Solar citadel empire, so do you want to go there?"
I sadly said to Theo, "I'm sorry, but on the same day, I got training for the Lavender village tournament."
I thought Theo would be disappointed, but he srugged as if he seemed fine with why I wouldn't be here.
Theo: "Oh...! [Shrugs!] That's OK, because I am also going there to participate."
I was surprised by what he said. But before I got to say anything, Theo walked away and said:
"See you around, Enshi."
And so we went our separate ways...
