4. The Dance Competition

MANSI'S POV:

The next morning after the dal and khichdi massacre contained the usual, me being woken up by maa, dadu and dadi bickering, dadu making sandwiches for breakfast, dad showing his for me like always, shantanu barging into my home and occupying my seat and being scared of dad as well. The only thing different was shantanu took 4 extra sandwiches and when I called him bhukkad for that, he gave a which had me laughing like shit. Well wanna know what he told?

"Kal jo tune dal aur khichdi ka experiment mere pe kiya tha uske liye sirf 4 sandwich extra liya, shukar mana iss baat ka. Warna teri plate bhi safa chat kar jata."

(After the experiment that you performed on me with porridge and dal, be glad I took only 3 sandwiches extra, or else I wouldn't have minded emptying your plate as well.)

Then the morning went by as usual, we went to school, he held my hand as always and Shanvi again advised us to date each other. In fact, that is what is going on right now as well.

SHANVI: See, I can give you a thousand reasons why you should date Kabir.

MANSI: No use, I won't date him anyway.

SHANVI: come on look at him! he's so cute.

MANSI: ofc, duh.

SHANVI: Now look at his happy face, it looks as if it radiates sunshine the sunshine boy. His smile is soo infectious. It can make even an ice cube for a person smile. Looking at his smiling face, a small smile broke out on my face as well.

SHANVI: His smile is beautiful isn't it?
Unknowingly I nodded my head at her. It wasn't like I was listening to what she was saying. I was still focused on Shantanu.

SHANVI: Look at his eyes now, they're magnetic aren't they?

Slowly my eyes went towards his and they were sure magnetic. His eyes were dark brown in color, almost black. No one would notice their real color if they don't look comfortably. His eyes reduced in size, almost scrunching up in a cute the sunshine boy. His smile is soo infectious. It can make even an ice cube for a person smile. Looking at his smiling face, a small smile broke out on my face as well.

SHANVI: His smile is beautiful isn't it?

MANSI: *gritting teeth* Haan hua na.
