Nyx's First Prom

Nyx was in Rose and Emmett's room getting ready with the help of Rose and Alice. Rose does her hair while Alice finishes her final preparation to Nyx's outfit including a new black with gold chain bag she get specificly for tonight for Nyx to put her wand in as she's wearing heels instead of her normal boots.

Nyx smiles as she looks at the hair Rose did for her. She had put small flowers in her hair. She couldn't help hugging the blonde girl. "Thank you, Rosie! I love it so much!" Nyx smiles as Alice called her to get dressed. Nyx twirls in Rose's full body mirror, happy that the dress fit her as well as Alice said it would. "Do you think, Edward will like it?" Nyx said, looks over her dress. Rose laughs from the closet as she changes. "What?" Nyx questions.

"Nyxie, you could wear a garbage bag and Edward would love you. You're gorgeous, Nyx." Rose says as Alice nods. 'Their telling you the truth.'

"Rose is right. If it makes you feel better, Edward will absolutely love it. In fact he's about to show up in three. Two..." Alice points to the door as a knock is heard. "One." Alice pushes Nyx to the door.

Nyx takes a deep breath and smiles seeing Edward. "Hi." She exits out to the hallway. "What do you think?" She smiles and spins around. Edward nods.

"You look amazing as always, Nyx." 'He's telling you the truth.' Nyx's smile widens. "Give me you wrist." Nyx holds out her arm to him and he puts a yellow and black corsage on her wrist. Nyx smiles. Alice opens the door and places a box in her hand before closing it again. Nyx looks at the box confused before realizing it's a boutonniere. Edward laughs, "I guess letting Alice help me pick it out was her way of getting us to match. Huh?" Nyx nods. She puts the boutonniere on Edward's suit jacket as he leads her down the stairs. Carlisle and Esme are waiting at the door with a dressed up Emmett and Jasper. The four vampires turn to the couple and smile.

"You look amazing, Shortstack!" Nyx blushes not use to being complimented so much in one night. Jasper just stays silent but nods understanding her emotions and not wanting to overwhelm her.

"Thanks, guys."

Edward leads Nyx out to his car. "We're leaving before them." Edward kisses the side of her head as he opens the door to his car for Nyx. The pair talking the whole way to the school. Edward didn't need Jasper's powers to feel the worry coming off of Nyx in waves. "Baby relax. I promise you everything will be ok." Edward ran a hand through her hair and smiled at her. He sighed and held up his pinky finger. "I promise."

Nyx smiled and locked her pinky with his. Edward helps her out and guides her to the gym. Nyx smiles seeing Bella dancing with Mike, Jessica, Eric and Angela. Angela smiles and waves at Nyx. Nyx waves back shyly. Bella smiles and waves to Nyx. Nyx notices Clifford is with Lauren and her group of friends, she moves into Edward's arm when Lauren glares at Nyx.

Edward moves them over to the other Cullen kids. "Hello." Nyx smiles at the group of vampires.

Emmett gives a toothy smile, "Long time no see, huh?" Emmett jokes.

The small group keeps to themself till Bella taps Nyx's shoulder. Nyx smiles. Edward's arm around her waist. "Want to dance?" Nyx smiles and grabs Bella's hand, pulling the human to the dance floor. Edward watches Nyx dance with her cousin and her friends.

"How can so much hurt happen to that girl and she acts like everything is fine? She knows about the supernatural, watched her friend die and got attacked by a vampire, turning her into a hybrid. How is she still so positive?" Rosalie asks the group quietly. They all silent watch her as she dances.

Nyx smiles and turns to them. Edward walks towards her. "Come on... I want to show you something." Nyx nods. Edward grabs Nyx's hand. He walks her to a small gazebo out the doors. Nyx smiles leaning on the railing enjoy the view of the forest.

"I could get use to Forks... It's so calming."

Edward laughs and leans down kissing her cheek. "You're so beautiful, Nyx." Nyx smiles 'He's telling you the truth.' "I finally know what it's like not surviving just to be here for family." He turns her to look at him, placing his hands on her cheeks. "I now knowwhat living is, Nyx. You my love, are my reason for being here."

Nyx smles wider and pulls him into a kiss.
