MANY YEARS LATER
THE TRAUMA THAT SEEPED into andromeda's bones throbbed as she saw the latest patient come in.
"Andi," Poe Dameron winced, grabbing his partially burnt shoulder, "You gotta patch me up quick."
As Andromeda's eyes settled on the burn, her breath hitched in her throat. Her step faltered as she felt as if she was transported back to the worst night of her life. She had survived it, and she would survive this.
Flashes of her past peers haunted her as she shook her head, blinking a few times in order to snap out of it.
"What'd you do this time, Poe?" Andromeda chuckled, grabbing some bacta and layering it on his fragile skin. Poe Dameron was a frequent flyer in her clinic.
Poe chuckled, trying not to inch away from her as the bacta soothed his scar tissue. "You know me, can't stay out of trouble if I tried."
Andromeda was currently the head nurse on a very small Resistance Base on Tatooine. When she had escaped the Temple, she sought shelter in Leia. Getting a job as a local medic was her way of life for a few years, as she refused to use the Force. When the Resistance was formed, Leia begged for her help. She refused for a while, but reluctantly accepted on a few conditions. One, she had to be on the furthest planet from their current one, and two, she would be a nurse. She refused to acknowledge the Force or any remnants of her being a Padawan. The Force only brought hate and destruction. As much as it hurt, she buried it that night. Along with Kayla, Ben Solo, and her old self.
