Chapter 14: Pubsec's problem

•The arrest of former captain Rivera sent ripples through new eridu, the fact that such a corrupt officer managed to get through unnoticed into the system essentially shattered the trust that the people, especially in lumina, had in pubsec. Many people started coming forward and asking for a thorough check into each officers background, they didn't want to take the chance in case something severe happened. Fortunately the situation had been mostly calmed due to the continuing efforts of zhu yuan, qingyi and seth following up the arrest with rigorous efforts to assure the public that situations like Rivera's would never happen again. Distrust and discourse still was seen all over new eridu and many elderly residents who already had their doubts about the district officers nearby, however the protests had all calmed and it was mostly word of mouth. This didn't make things any easier for the 3 pubsec officers as whilst they kept up their hard work, they were still given dirty looks alongside every other officer.

•which leads us to today, currently zhu yuan, seth and qingyi are working on an important case and investigation, many places needed to be searched in this case including an abandoned storage unit near sixth street, the old laboratory which zhu yuan and qingyi searched earlier and the underground facility where the kidnapped bangboos were kept, the problem was that whenever they went out and investigated the civilians wouldn't help when asked questions only reply things like "i don't help corrupt cops" or "why don't you ask your buddies up top". This heavily halted the search and investigation, it made it difficult to get any information on suspicious activity near the areas.•

•frustrated and going no where, qingyi asks zhu yuan•

Qingyi: why not get some help?

Zhu yuan: help? what kind of help?

Qingyi: .......i dont know if your gonna like it.

Zhu yuan: *sigh* I'll take anything at this point.

Qingyi: well you talked to the higher ups right? Why not ask copycat? Wait no what was his name? M/n?

Zhu yuan: *hesitant* i suppose.....i did do that *sigh* alright I'll give him a quick call.

Qingyi: alright then I'll go find seth and then we can start again.

•as qingyi walks out, zhu yuan was hesitant to actually call, she didn't want to have to rely on someone who had not only saved her before, but was still also technically a criminal. With a heavy sigh she rang the phone•

M/n(phone): hello?

Zhu yuan: is.....is this m/n?

M/n(phone): zhu yuan? Yeah thats me? Whats with the call?

Zhu yuan: *sigh* well with the situation about Rivera the public has lost trust in pubsec, this has affected our investigation that we're conducting so........*quietly* can you give us a hand......

M/n(phone): oh yeah i saw something about that. Of course I'll help
