Prompt: Spain

Crown of Castile was not in love with Crown of Aragon—no matter what his mother or Kingdom of Aragon said. Just because their crowns had united didn't mean they had to be in love. That was a stupid and foolish argument being made by kingdoms surviving off their children's success, pretending like they still had importance.

It annoyed him so much.

He wished that they did not insist on hounding him about it.

"Your mother told me I would be able to find you here." Crown of Castile sighed as he heard the Kingdom of Aragon's voice from behind him.

"Are you here to admit that you share the delusion that I am in love with your daughter?" Crown of Castile asked. Kingdom of Aragon shrugged, something glimmering in his eyes.

"I believe there is more to your relationship than you say, with that empire child you two have had together," he said. Crown of Castile couldn't help but snort in amusement at that.

"You and I both know that children mean nothing to the personal relations of our kind. Even if our monarchs are married, that does not mean that we are. We do not reflect our kings, and I am tired of everyone expecting me to be him. I am the Crown of Castile. Not the king," Crown of Castile said, gritting his teeth.

"I never said you were. But there are rumors that something is going on between you two," Kingdom of Aragon said. Crown of Castile turned and began walking away.

"Rumors are just rumors. Just gossip meant to diminish relationships and destroy alliances," Crown of Castile said before turning to face the Kingdom of Aragon. "I suggest you stop listening to them."

"You know, the more you try to deny them, the more people will just insist they are true, Castile. And the more I will try and spread it as well," Crown of Aragon then said, entering the hall, a slight smirk on her face. Crown of Castile rolled his eyes.

"Oh, shut it, will you? I'm fine with being around you all, but why do you all have to spread that rumor?" he asked.

"Well, mainly because it annoys you so much," Crown of Aragon answered, her voice never wavering from its sweet and innocent tone despite the sharp look in her eyes.

Crown of Castile groaned. He hated these people. So much. He would have to figure out a rumor to spread about them as payback.

No one ever said he wasn't a petty man.
