It didn't take long for the girls to approach a sweet-smelling orchard.
"Do you smell that? It's intoxicating,", Alette said, lost in the moment.
"There's something magical about this place.", remarked Nashi, questioning where the magic was coming from.
Water sprinkled on them upon arriving, much to Lucky's dismay.
"Oh! Hello! You must be from Harvest Showcase, right? It's around that time of year. I've heard other farmers have been recieving visits."
A plump young woman with braided brown hair came out from behind one of the orange trees. She greeted them, making sure to shake each of their hands multiple times.
"You're Miss Baxpert, right?", asked Lucky. "We're from Fairy Tail, not Carpet Stroke Race, whatever that is."
"Lucky, it's Harvest Showcase. It's a big competition for farmers. They show off what they've harvested the past year. It's like the Grand Magic Games, but for farmers. There's a big prize and everything. I went one year with my parents. I should probably go again. If Mr. Grantee's competing, I'll cheer for him!", Alette happily explained.
"It's great to celebrate local produce, but I hope it's not just a marketing gimmick," Nashi remarked, assessing the authenticity of the event.
"Well, if you're not from Harvest Showcase, what are you doing here? Are you interested in buying some fresh oranges?"
Before Alette said 'yes', Nashi went ahead and explained the situation about the missing garden gnome.
"Oh, poor Ms. Tola. Her and that garden gnome. She's a lovely lady, you know? I wish I could help you girls."
"You can, actually.", said Nashi. "I can tell you're using magic around here, and it seems to be common knowledge that Tola's gnome has some kind of magical property. You wouldn't mind telling us about the magic you use here, would you?"
"Of course not! I use Water Magic in my orchard. I use it for all sorts of reasons. The water sprinkled the pests away, it keeps the soil moist. I can make sure hard-to-reach areas are well watered and my magic keeps my trees well-cared for even during dry seasons.", the woman proudly explained.
"With a sprinkle of curiosity and a dash of imagination, magic can elevate our everyday lives into a tapestry of enchantment where the simplest moments become the most cherished memories.", Nashi quoted as she closed her eyes and felt another sprinkle of water on her face. "Asteria Newmann."
"You're a fan of that fancy poetry, huh? The woman's pretty famous. Well, if that's all I can do for you, I'll be on my way.", replied Miss Baxpert.
"There's too much water here.", Lucky complained. "Let's go!"
