9:30. He cannot be serious, Angela thought to herself. He texted her at 9:02 telling her he was leaving to come home; they only lived a 6-7 minute drive from the DA's office, so what the hell was taking him so long. She checked his location, which showed that he was still at the office. She let out a huff of frustration, and called him. The phone rang for a while then ended with Wesley's answerphone. She called again, but the same thing happened. She decided she would go down there and berate him in person instead, seeing as he can't pick up his phone. The babysitter was still at the house, as she was contracted until 9:30pm. Angela quickly asked her if she would mind staying with the kids a little while longer, as she had to go to Wesley's workplace. The sitter happily agreed, and went to put the kids down for bedtime, as Angela told her she would pay her double time for this last minute favour.

She stopped her car in front of the DA building, and jogged up the steps. The building was completely locked with all the lights off, so where the hell was her husband? She rang him again, to which she heard a buzzing noise from around the corner. Angela walked towards the noise, and sure enough, located Wesley's phone, lit up and buzzing in the middle of the road. An overwhelming sense of dread and fear filled Angela's heart, as she realised what must have happened. Elijah was her first thought, and she quickly called Sergeant Grey to inform him of what happened. He immediately applied for warrants for all nearby cameras, so they could hopefully get a clear image of what happened.  The next person she called was Nyla, as they were each other's rock, and she knew she wouldn't be allowed anywhere near this if it turned into a full investigation, but wanted to make sure Nyla was, as she trusted her both as a detective and a friend, implicitly.

"Nyla?"

"Hey mama, what's up? You sound... stressed."

"I am! Wesley is gone... He told me he was coming home at 9, I still hadn't heard from him at 9:30, so I went to his office, and his phone is lying in the middle of the street, someone took him, I know it, I'm scared Nyla."

"Woah, woah, okay. Have you let Grey know about this? There could be a reasonable explanation for it, but, just in case something did happen..."

"Yes, I called him already, and he's getting warrants for all the cameras, to hopefully see where he went, or was taken," Angela trailed off, voice breaking "Nyla, please can you get in on this, I know it's late, but I won't be allowed to work this case, and I need someone I trust on it."

"Yes, of course I will get in on this. James hasn't come back from the community centre yet though, so I have Leah with me. I'll call Grey quickly to see if I can bring her with me, she can sleep in the buggy while I work." Nyla responded

"Thank you so much, I don't know what I'd do without you, I'm heading to the station as well, to see if there is anything they'll let me do."

Soon, the warrants for the cameras were granted, and a clear image of Wesley being ambushed appeared on-screen. All three men had full face black ski masks on, they were all wearing the same clothes and had nothing identifiable on them. They placed a dark grey bag over his head and shoved him into the back of a silver Sedan, which the police quickly identified by the plates as stolen. Nyla, Angela and Sergeant Grey stared on, in absolute horror.

"That didn't look like Elijah's guys, did it?" Angela questioned, but it was really more of a statement.

"No, it didn't." Grey replied, "So who was it? And where are they taking him?"

It was now almost 10pm, and Nyla was glancing down at her phone periodically, with a concerned expression on her face, while rocking Leah back and forth in her buggy with the other hand.

"What is it, Harper?" Grey questioned.

"Oh nothing, it's not important right now, but I texted James about an hour ago and he still hasn't responded, I checked the doorbell cam and he isn't home yet either. He must just be working late, but you'd think the man would have the decency to send me a text and let me know." She responded, clearly slightly annoyed.
