Lucy was wheeled from the ambulance bay to the ER at lightning speed, Bailey was flying down the hallway holding the gurney with both hands, and Tim in tow. As the doctor and nurses ran over to them, Bailey started the information handover.

"31 year old female, multiple blunt force traumas to the head, lacerations to the side of her face and chest, heavy bruising on the forehead and eyes, potential brain injury, currently unconscious but breathing, she's been out for approximately 90 minutes." She expressed, breathlessly, and an extremely concerned expression plastered across her face. The doctor quickly wheeled her into an examination room to assess her external injuries and prep her for a head CT scan. Tim stood outside the room watching silently, mouth agape and eyes wide, he couldn't believe this was happening. As they hooked her up to the heart monitor, it showed her heart was functioning normally, which soothed Tim slightly, but he was still so worried about her and knew how catastrophic blunt force head traumas had the potential to be; he had seen it happen one too many times. The doctors did their initial assessment quickly, and wheeled her off down the corridor to have her head CT. Tim felt completely helpless seeing her like that; he sat down on a chair in the waiting room and rested his head in his hands, elbows resting on his knees.

Roughly 10 minutes later, Wesley and James appeared in the ER, closely followed by Angela and Nyla. They rushed over to Tim as soon as they spotted him, asking "how is she?" to which Tim responded, "they've just taken her for a CT scan of her head to see if she has any brain injuries, she's in pretty bad shape." voice noticeably shaky. Angela put her hand on his arm, and gave him a sympathetic smile.

"She'll pull through. She's strong." Angela responded, not fully believing her own words but wanting to provide Tim with some sense of hope; she knew she would feel absolutely heartbroken and terrified if it was Wesley in Lucy's place, so she wanted to be helpful where she could. Anyone with eyes, knew that Tim still loved Lucy, more than anything else in the world; he just had some sort of self-deprecation thing going on and had convinced himself he didn't deserve her and that she needed someone better than him. Both Angela and Nyla hoped that this experience might make him snap out of it and allow himself to make things right with her; they all knew she was pining for him too and it truly made no sense why they weren't together.

Wesley and James were soon escorted by a pair of nurses to examination rooms so their injuries could be examined and documented, leaving Tim, Angela and Nyla in the waiting room. Grey, Aaron and Celina arrived soon after to keep them company and check to see how the patients were doing.

"How are they doing? H-how's Lucy?" Celina enquired, shooting Tim a concerned look.

"They don't know yet, she's having a CT scan right now so hopefully we'll know more soon, James and Wesley are getting checked out." Tim responded, his bloodshot eyes almost completely vacant. All the pain mixed with regret and sadness he was feeling turned into numbness, almost as if he was in some kind of trance. Aaron and Celina exchanged worried looks; they both loved Lucy like a sister, in fact, everyone at the station did. The loss would be felt immensely if she didn't make it. Grey plopped himself down in the seat next to Tim, and gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder, as if to say, hang in there son.

After about half an hour, Wesley emerged, followed by James, discharge paperwork in hand; they had both been medically cleared. They both hugged their wives and said hello to Sergeant Grey, Aaron and Celina. "Any word yet?" Wesley asked.

"No, not yet honey." Angela responded, with a sad smile. "As much as I want to stay and see how Lucy gets on, I agreed to pay the sitter time and a half, so she is making bank off of us right now." She added, with a small grimace.
