"Uhh - did you hear everything I said to you?"

"Yes, I did."

Tim gulped, suddenly feeling extremely nervous. "And...?"

"And, I have to say, I'm a little pissed off! It really took for me to literally almost die for you to decide you still want me? Lucy replied, arms folded.

"Look, Lucy - I - I know, I have done nothing to deserve your forgiveness or trust in me again, but I am willing to do anything I can to prove to you that it's worth the risk."

"Mhm, I've heard that one before, Bradford, and look where that got me." Her face softened slightly, "But, you being here all day every day since I've been in here is definitely a start, and I appreciate it."

Tim smiled back at her, "you're welcome."

"So, just how much grovelling are you willing to do? Cause I'm not about to jump straight back into this without a lotttttt of reassurance that I'm not gonna get left out in the cold again."

"As much as it takes, and then some. I mean it Lucy, I'm ready to do this right." Tim replied, a serious look on his face, full of longing.

"Okay, I'll give you ONE shot, but I am running for the hills at the first sight of a red flag, understand? What you did totally broke me, and I can't go through that again."

"Deal, and I can't tell you how sorry I am for doing that, I thought I was doing the right thing by you but I made everything 10 times worse."

"We don't have to talk about it right this second, I am still, like, really tired, but we'll talk about it another time. Did you catch the guys? How are Wesley and James?" Lucy asked.

"We did, and Wesley and James are absolutely fine. They had barely a scratch on them, you on the other hand..."

"Yeah... I know, those guys didn't seem to like my Plan C idea very much, but it bought enough time for them to be rescued, so I don't regret it one bit." Lucy responded, shrugging her shoulders in defiance.

"I do have one question," Tim began, "did you feel confident that we'd find you?"

"Yes, but only because of Wesley and James, I knew that the second they didn't come home for dinner on time, Angela and Nyla would be sounding all the alarms. I felt guilty for this at the time, but I was really glad they were there, because it would take a hell of a lot longer for anyone to realise I was missing, hell, I probably would've been dead already by the time I was found if it was just me." Lucy admitted.

Tim looked down the floor, his own guilt creeping in. "That," he started, "is never going to happen again. Even if you're not with me, I want regular check ins to make sure you're okay once you get out of here, alright? I feel so guilty that you felt that way, that no one would notice you were gone, but you're never gonna feel like that again, I promise." Tim responded with absolute sincerity, looking her directly in the eyes.

"Okay..." Lucy replied, quietly.

The next day and a half went without a hitch; Lucy tried to argue that Tim didn't need to be there overnight anymore and could go home to get some proper sleep, but he insisted on staying and she ultimately gave in. On the afternoon of the final day, Lucy's final head CT came back, showing that the bleed had shrunk slightly and would continue to do so with medication, meaning there was no pressure on anything in her brain so that was all good, and her labs all came back clear too. The doctor booked her in for a check up for a week later, to make sure she was still functioning well and nothing new had come to light, but ultimately discharged her for now, satisfied that she was well and strong enough to go home. She would still need lots of rest before she would be able to do anything strenuous or go back to work, but didn't need to be under constant medical supervision any longer.
