The next morning, Tim and Lucy woke up still holding each other tight, as if the other might slip away. That was the best night's sleep either of them had, since, well, the breakup. Tim started stirring first, which woke Lucy up. She gazed up at him sleepily, muttered "good morning," and planted a small kiss on his swollen, sleepy lips. He reciprocated, and deepened the kiss slightly. Once their lips parted, he wrapped his big arms around her and pulled her close into a full embrace, limbs entangled, for a few minutes, simply enjoying the closeness he had so desperately missed.

They eventually got up and ready for the day, Tim had one more day off until he had to go back to work, so wanted to make the most of it. Tim got dressed, and headed out into the kitchen to make breakfast. Mid way through making pancakes, he was greeted by Celina, who said good morning and gave him a warm smile. "I'm making pancakes, you want any?" Tim enquiried.

"Ooh yeah for sure, if that's okay?" Celina responded.

"Of course," Tim replied, sliding two onto a plate and handing it to her. She sat down on one of the stools, thanked him and began to tuck in.

"So, how is she?" Celina asked, a hint of worry evident in her face.

"She's good, she was absolutely exhausted yesterday, but that's not surprising, given that she was in a coma for a week, but she'll get her strength back. Mentally she seems good, but only time will tell. I'll keep an eye on her." Tim replied. That seemed to satisfy Celina, who resumed eating her pancakes.

A few minutes later, Lucy emerged from the bedroom, wearing a pair of black leggings and a light blue knitted sweater, her hair tied up into a Pamela Anderson style messy bun that looked gorgeous on her. Celina jumped up, ran over and threw her arms around her. "Hey, are you okay? How are you feeling? I missed you. Tim made pancakes, you should have some, they're really good." Celina blurted out at about a million miles an hour; nonchalance had never been her strong suit.

"Hey, I'm okay, feeling a little weak but I can't expect to be all better straight away, I guess, I missed you too! And I will definitely have some pancakes," she answered, giving Tim a sly wink. He beamed back at her and set a plate down in front of her with two pancakes on it, topped with chopped strawberries, bananas and maple syrup. She began to tuck in, making sure to thank Tim for making her breakfast. Celina finished her food, washed up her plate, poured herself a cup of coffee into a flask, and headed out to go to work, saying goodbye to both of them with a big smile.

Once Lucy and Tim had both finished eating, he scooped her up bridal style and walked over to the couch, setting her down on it. She let out a shriek as she wasn't expecting it, which turned into a laugh. "So, what do you want to watch? I have one more day off, and I am going to spend it making sure you are resting and getting better." Tim stated, defiantly.

"Top chef?" Lucy suggested, "there's a new season out that I haven't watched yet." Tim nodded, picked up the remote and put it on, he hadn't watched it yet either. The show reminded him too much of her, so he couldn't bring himself to watch it on his own. The exact same was true for Lucy, it turned out. Tim spent the rest of the day pampering his girl, making sure she didn't have to get up to do anything, except the obvious things, he made her lunch and dinner, showcasing his chef skills, which he thought gave those on their show a run for their money; it wasn't quite true, but Lucy of course fed into his delusions and told him he would win the show if he went on it. They both had a wonderful day doing nothing in particular, enjoying each other's company again, and getting some quality cuddles in which they had both missed so much.

When the evening came around, they settled into their previously established routine of brushing their teeth together, showering and getting into bed together. Lucy was still relatively weak, so nothing sexual happened, they were just so happy to have each other back, the rest would most certainly follow once Lucy had her strength back; she would need it.

The next week went as you would expect, Tim texting Lucy every half hour while he was at work to ask if she was okay, and what she was getting up to; he wanted to make sure she wasn't pushing herself too hard, too soon. Although the incessant messages were slightly excessive, Lucy felt overwhelmingly glad to have someone who truly cared about her, a feeling she hadn't had in a while. Tim came to stay with her every night after shift, and they effortlessly fell back into their old routine of being together, except this time it was so much more amazing, somehow. Tim had gotten so much better at communicating and being open with his feelings; Lucy had his therapist to thank for that, and after the second week had passed, she was ready to go back to work too. She had been physically and mentally cleared by the doctor and department shrink, and was eager to get back to doing what she loved: making a difference. Despite its challenges, this job was everything she wanted, and she couldn't wait to get right back into it. Lucy and Tim told their friends they were back together, who were all over the moon; anyone with eyes could see they belonged together. They resumed their rightful position as Mid-Wiltshire's power couple, and knew that whatever challenges life or the job might bring, they would get through it together.
