A girl screamed as she gurgled in pain. Her blood followed the blade, and painted the trees around her as she was launched back from the attack. Her body lay on the ground. Coughing blood from her mouth. She glanced to the man who attacked her. A tall, pale skinned man with black hair. He glared down at her and flashed his teeth in a terrifying grin. She shook as she closed her eyes and laid flat. He scoffed and left. Mumbling about how bothersome it was to kill a single woman.
She waited five minutes as she bled out. Just laying there. Finally she managed to grab a stick that was broken. Grabbing the sharp end, she took a breath. 'Just don't think about it.' She thought to herself. Pushing the sharp end into her throat, she sliced her throat open. Coughing and choking on more blood. Her body seizing until finally going motionless.

."Pike, where you go?!" Grog yelled. The others except for Keyleth, search for them. "Over here!" Vex yelled. Everyone running over. They came up to Pike and Keyleth kneeling before a grave. Their hands dirty. Keyleth growing flowers over and around it. "Poor girl. Slashed apart so gruesomely and left to die alone." Keyleth sniffed. Tears in her eyes. Percy tried not to ruin the sad moment by trying to rush everyone out. He held his tongue as Pike prayed. They were supposed to go to a big party and Percy did not want to be late.
"Come. We've done what we could." Everyone stood and left. Keyleth staying just moments after. Bowing her head. "I'm sorry." A tear fell, and she turned. Leaving as well.
*an hour later*
Dirt, being pushed and moving on its own. Fingers digging out and finally pulling someone up. The girl that was killed by the man earlier was alive. She coughed out blood mixed with dirt. Her throat extremely dry and rough. She grumbled as she dragged herself out of the hole and away from the grave. Finally, standing up. Walking as if nothing happened. Heading towards the closest water source.

.The girl kneeled before a dead women. "Sorry. I need your clothes." She grabbed her clothes that weren't covered in blood. Changing into them. They hung off her slightly. Suddenly she saw a lyre beside the dead woman. "Oh, thank gods." She grabbed it and strung it slightly. Then she held it close. Grabbing anything valuable small enough to carry and left. "Who buried me?" She mumbled to herself as she walked away.
It took about two hours but she finally got close to a road. "Finally." She sighed as she stepped out on to it. Just as she did, though, a cart of people almost rammed into her. The wheel just scraping her leg. She jumped back and held the lyre in front of her as if to protect her. Everyone yelping as they're launched around in the cart. The horses skidding to a stop. The girl huffed as she kept off one leg. Not wanting to aggravate the small wound.
"What were you thinking!?" A white-haired man practically screeched at her as he climbed off. Stomping towards her. She clutched her new lyre to her chest. Keyleth jumping before them. "Woah. Hold on. It was an accident." The half elf woman spoke. Slowly walking towards the girl. "Hey. Are you okay?" She asked gently.
The girl lowered her lyre. Scanlan immediately looked excited. It was a bard. A beautiful bard woman. "Hey guys, she's hurt." Vex shrugged. "And? We're on a mission right now." She scoffed towards the girl. "Vex, we're the ones that hurt her. We can help her and drop her off at the next town." Keyleth argued. She seemed timid under Vex's gaze. Vax stood between them before Vex could say anything. "It's the right thing to do." He countered. Vex rolled her eyes and moved aside. "Fine." She walked around the cart to the front. Percy following. Grog picked up the girl and climbed on the back, setting her down on the bed of the cart. After everyone climbed on, Percy took the reigns and forced the horses to move.
Keyleth immediately gets to work on her wound. The girl not even flinching. She's used to this now. "Thankfully, it's not that bad." Keyleth looked up at her. The girl blinking confusedly. Keyleth was just staring. "Keyleth. It's rude to stare." Scanlan was trying to read but couldn't keep his eyes off the new girl. "You-" She had started talking. The girl panicked a bit. "I was recently attacked." Most eyes were on her now. "A tall pale man with black hair. He looked very well dressed like a noble. He also held a long black sword." The cart slammed to a stop. Vex almost went flying from the force of it.
Percy whipped around to face her. "You were attacked by Lord Sylas Briarwood, and he let you live!?" She nodded. "I was in a group. He killed them and left me after I ran off. I... I couldn't fight him. He was too strong." Percy cursed loudly as he turned back around. Hitting the horses and the cart taking off again. "Did he happen to say anything?" The girl thought for a moment. "Nothing much. The lady, however, is quite the talker. She got annoyed that she kept missing me with her attack , and she started yelling that I was ruining her plan. Saying she will rule the world with her dearest husband. She's quite the mage." The girl rubbed her finger over the lyre.
"My name is Scanlan. Best bard around. You could learn a thing or two from me. Maybe on the way we could find some -" He was smacked on the back of the head by Vax. The girl chuckled. She's used to that, too. "My name is Keyleth. The big guy is Grog. There's Vax'ildan, but we all call him Vax. Same for Vex. Then that is -" Percy cleared his throat. "I can introduce myself. Thank you, Keyleth." He interrupted her. Keyleth held her staff anxiously. "I am Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III." He sounded very snobbish. "You're from Whitestone." Percy looked shocked. Glancing back to her. "How did you know?" He asked quickly. Vex looking back at her. "I asked around. People like to talk. There was word going around about the old lord and lady of Whitestone. Of course, I was eager to know more." Percy huffed.
"Hey, you never told us your name." Keyleth brought up. "Oh, I'm Emrys." Keyleth hummed. "Emrys what?" She shrugged. "Just Emrys." The twins didn't trust her one bit. Vex looked annoyed and angry that she's even tagging along. "Also, how are you alive because Pike and I buried you the other day? It just seems very off. Especially since we've run into you twice now." Now it was an awkward silence.
