JEY|When we landed in Saudi Arabia, the weight of everything hit me all over again. The adrenaline from the flight, the news about Michael, it was all swirling in my head, but I had to keep calm for Amahle. She had enough on her mind already, and tomorrow was too important to let anything or anyone mess with that.
We checked into the hotel with the crew, the whole squad sticking together. Jon, Sefa, and Joe were with us. Even Bianca was around, trying to keep things light, cracking jokes and all, but I could tell everyone was still thinking about what went down earlier. None of us were talking about it, but it was there, hanging in the air.
Luckily, Jon's room was connected to ours. He had our back, and I knew if anything popped off, he was just a door away. As soon as we got to our room, I helped Amahle settle in.
She was quiet, more than usual.
I could feel the tension in her, like she was holding everything in, trying not to crack. She'd been like this since we heard the news, and I couldn't blame her.
Hell, I wasn't even sure how I felt about it myself.I dropped the bags and headed over to her, pulling her into my arms. She melted against me, like she always does, and I knew she needed me to be her rock right now. I kissed the top of her head, my hand running down her back slowly.
"We here, baby," I said, keeping my voice low and calm. "We got through the flight, and we about to handle business tomorrow. I'm with you, alright?"
She nodded into my chest, her arms wrapping around me tighter. I could feel her breathing slowing down, but there was still that weight between us—the weight of everything that happened today. But I wasn't about to let that creep in and ruin this for her. Not when tomorrow was Crown Jewel.
After a few minutes of silence, I spoke up again. "Jon's right next door. We good, alright? Ain't nothin' gonna come between us right now."
She pulled back slightly, looking up at me with those deep brown eyes of hers. I could see the conflict in them, but she was holding it together. "I know," she whispered. "I just... it's a lot."
