JEY|

The morning sun filtered through the blinds, casting thin lines of light across the room as I sat at the edge of the bed, phone in hand. Amahle had just left, her scent still lingering in the air, mixing with the faint traces of the perfume she'd worn. The ache of watching her walk out the door was still fresh, but it was mixed with a growing resolve. I couldn't let what happened with Carmelo slide.

As much as Amahle and I were back on good terms, the thought of that dude trying to ruin what we had—trying to mess with her—made my blood boil. This wasn't just some petty jealousy; it was a deliberate attempt to destroy the most important thing in my life. And I couldn't stand by and let that happen.

With a determined breath, I opened my messages and scrolled until I found Jon's contact. I knew my twin would understand where I was coming from, even if it meant bending the rules a bit.

I quickly typed out a message:

Me: Yo Uce, you got a minute to talk? Need to run something by you.

Within seconds, my phone buzzed with an incoming call. I answered before it had a chance to ring twice.

"Sup, Uce?" Jon's voice came through the line, laid-back as ever, but with an edge of curiosity.

"I need to tell you something," I began, my voice low but firm. "Something I'm planning to handle with Carmelo."

There was a slight pause on the other end, then a deep sigh. "Aw shit... What is it?"

"I called DJ this morning. Asked him to help me handle it as quietly as possible."

Jon's silence stretched long enough that I wondered if he'd hung up. But then he spoke, his tone cautious. "You sure about this, Uce? You know DJ don't play around. Once he gets involved, things tend to get... permanent."

I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "I know. But Carmelo crossed a line. He's trying to mess with Amahle, and that's something I can't let go. Not after everything we've been through."

Jon exhaled heavily, the sound crackling through the speaker. "I get it, Jey. I do. But Amahle... you think she's gonna be okay with this? You're pulling DJ into something deep, and if it backfires—"

"I'll handle that too," I cut in, my jaw clenched. "Amahle won't even know. DJ's gonna make sure this is handled quick and clean. After that, we can move on. No more drama."
