AMAHLE|

A faint throbbing pulled me toward consciousness, but it was like clawing through molasses. My head felt heavy, and the sharp, metallic scent of the air made me wince. My body was sluggish, as if I were floating underwater.

What the hell...?

I tried to move, but my limbs barely responded. My wrists felt restrained, rough fabric biting into my skin.
Panic instantly crept in, jagged and unforgiving, flooding my senses as my memory began to return in blurry fragments—the beach, Jey, the laughter in his eyes, the warmth of his touch before he ran back to the villa... Then, darkness.

I forced myself to open my eyes, struggling against the weight of the drugs still fogging my mind.
The room was dimly lit, sterile, and unfamiliar. A single flickering light hung above me, casting a cold glow over what looked like concrete walls. This wasn't the resort. This wasn't anywhere safe.

A door creaked open, and footsteps echoed as someone stepped inside. Every fiber in my body screamed at me to run, but I could only watch as a shadowed figure approached. His face came into view, and the sight of it made my blood turn to ice.

I know him from somewhere...

The man smirked, crossing his arms as he loomed over me. "Awake already? Impressive." His voice was calm, almost amused, as if this was nothing more than a game.

I fought to keep my voice steady. "Who the hell are you? What do you want?"

He chuckled, unbothered by the venom in my tone. "You don't remember me sweetheart. Michael's only other real friend."
He reached out, brushing a stray strand of hair from my face. I flinched away, the feel of his touch sending a shiver down my spine.

Aiden.

Shit.

My mind raced, desperately searching for something—anything—to break free. But the drugs were still holding me down, clouding my thoughts and leaving me helpless.

"Sit still Mally, we got a hot minute before Vic gets here."

But somewhere in the back of my mind, I clung to one thought: Jey would come for me.
He wouldn't stop until he found me.
