The shrill sound of the alarm cut through the peaceful silence of the bedroom. Olivia groaned, barely cracking open her eyes as she reached out blindly, smacking the bedside table in an attempt to shut the noise up. When her fingers finally found the device, she fumbled and turned it off before burrowing back into the warmth of the blankets, sighing in relief.
Zack's arm tightened around her waist, his face buried in her neck, his warm breath fanning over her skin. Olivia hummed, perfectly content to stay there forever-until the second alarm rang.
"Ugh," she groaned again, turning onto her stomach and shoving her face into her pillow.
Zack didn't even flinch.
"Zack," Olivia mumbled against the pillow, her voice muffled. "Turn it off."
He didn't move.
"Zack," she tried again, poking his bicep.
Still nothing.
Annoyed, Olivia shoved at his shoulder. "Zack!"
He exhaled deeply, finally stirring, but instead of reaching for the alarm, he pulled her closer, his lips pressing lazily against her bare shoulder.
"Mmm... five more minutes, baby," he mumbled sleepily.
Olivia was about to protest when the third alarm rang-louder, more insistent, and more obnoxious than the others.
She snapped.
With a dramatic groan, she sat up abruptly and reached for her phone again, but in her sleep-addled frustration, she ended up knocking it off the table entirely. It clattered onto the floor, still blaring.
"Fucking hell!" she hissed, slamming her head back onto the pillow.
Zack let out a deep chuckle, still half-asleep. "Someone's grumpy this morning."
"Shut up," Olivia grumbled.
She squeezed her eyes shut, hoping for just a few more seconds of rest-until her brain finally caught up with reality.
Her eyes snapped open.
Something wasn't right.
Why was the alarm still ringing? They never let it go off that many times. And why did she feel so sore-oh.
Last night.
Heat rushed to Olivia's face as flashes of Zack's hands, his mouth, his body pressing against hers played in her mind like a sinful highlight reel. No wonder she felt like she'd been hit by a truck.
But that wasn't the problem right now.
She suddenly had the sinking feeling she was forgetting something. Something important.
Something-
Her eyes darted to the clock.
Then widened in pure, unfiltered horror.
"ZACK!" she shrieked, shoving him hard.
He grunted as she sat up in a panic, the sheets pooling around her waist.
"What the-?" Zack groaned, rubbing his face.
"WE OVERSLEPT!" Olivia screeched, shoving at his chest.
Zack blinked, trying to process her words through his sleep haze. "Babe, what-?"
"OUR FLIGHT TO ANDAMAN IS IN THREE HOURS!" Olivia practically wailed.
That woke him up.
"Shit," Zack cursed, sitting up instantly.
