The roads blurred past in streaks of gold and red as Sawyer gripped the steering wheel with white-knuckled intensity, his foot pressing dangerously against the accelerator. The car cut through the dark streets like a bullet, weaving through traffic, barely stopping at signals, as if time itself was the enemy.

Zack sat in the backseat, his body rigid as stone, his lethal aura suffocating the air around him. His wife lay against him, unconscious, her head resting on his shoulder. Olivia's face was ghostly pale, a stark contrast to the blood smeared across her cheek from Nicole's blade. Her breathing was shallow, and every second that passed without her stirring only fueled the storm in Zack's chest.

His arms held her tight, like she'd disappear if he let go. His pulse hammered against his temple, but he refused to show an ounce of weakness. Not now. Not when he needed to keep it together. Not when his daughter-his baby-was staring up at him with tear-filled eyes, her small body trembling.

Zivia clutched his shirt with tiny fingers, her other hand clutching Mike's, as if both men were the only lifelines keeping her grounded. Her blue eyes, so much like her mother's, were swollen from crying, her lips quivering. She hiccupped, snuggling closer into Zack's chest, her breath coming in uneven puffs.

"Dada..." she whimpered, voice raw. "Mama sleeping?"

Zack's throat tightened. He swallowed, his grip on Olivia tightening. "Yeah, baby... Mama's just sleeping."

Zivia's tiny fingers curled into his suit, holding onto him as if letting go would make him disappear too.

"Mama wake up?" she asked, her voice wobbling, her broken English making his heart twist painfully in his chest.

Zack forced a nod, pressing his lips against her forehead, his voice calm but firm. "Of course, princess. Mama's gonna wake up real soon."

Zivia sniffled. "Mhm... promise?"

His jaw clenched. He'd tear apart the entire fucking world to make sure Olivia woke up.

"I promise." His voice was steady, but the war inside him raged hotter with every second.

Zivia blinked up at him, her lashes damp with tears. "Dada... no go?"

"I'm right here, baby," Zack murmured, his hand rubbing soothing circles on her back. "I'm not going anywhere."

She tried to nod, but her body was weakening. The adrenaline was wearing off, and exhaustion was creeping in fast. Her small frame felt heavier against his chest, her fingers losing their tight grip on his shirt.

Zack's stomach dropped.

"Zivia?" he called, shifting her slightly, panic flickering in his icy blue eyes.

She let out a weak, tired whimper, her head lolling slightly against his shoulder.

"Zivia, baby, stay with me," Zack urged, his voice dropping into something dangerously soft. "Stay awake for Dada, okay? Keep talking to me, princess."

Zivia let out another soft mumble, barely audible. Her eyelids fluttered, her little hands slipping from his hold.

"No," Zack growled, his voice sharp. He shook her gently, pressing another kiss to her forehead. "Stay with me, Zivia! Open your eyes, baby."

Nothing.

Zack's heart slammed against his ribs, a rare flicker of fear slicing through his chest.

"Zivia," his voice dropped to a whisper, a desperate command, "Baby, wake up."
