After dinner I explained to Dally everything that happened.
"Nora, I really don't know what you should do" He said while smoking a cigarette,"I think I know."
"Okay,Ima go to bucks" He gets up and walks out the door before I could say more.
I saw Ponyboy walk to his room so I follow them knock at the door.
"Who is it" He yells out "It's Nora" I reply,I hear him run to the door and wait a second to open it."Hey Pony can we talk?" "Um sure come on in" He gestures.
"So what do you need" He says while looking down.
"Ponyboy,after everything that happened I think maybe it would be best for both of us if we took a break from each other..?" I stumbled over my words.
He looks up at me.
"What why,Nora i'm sorry for anything I did.I don't understa-" "Ponyboy,Please it just has to happen for now."
He was crying and hell,I was about to as well.
It was quiet so I got up and left the room,why would I do that? I love Ponyboy.
3 DAYS LATER
I have been hanging out with Johnny the whole day while Pony has been in his room. I decided to make the mood better.
"Johnny,Can I do your hair" I ask which a chuckle "Uh what do you mean by that" "Like curl,straighten,like just so things" I explain.He sighs and nods.
"Yes!" I say with a hop.I go get my hair stuff from my room and bring it to the table. Johnny sits down with him facing me. "Okay,first i'm gonna put rolls!" I start brushing his hair.
"What are you kids doin" I hear Dallas come in the house. "Hey dal" Johnny says while trying to move his head."Johnny! Don't move" I lightly hit his arm,"Jeez sorry" He lets out a chuckle. I heard Dallas sigh. "Everything alright dally?" I ask "Can I talk to ya real quick" "Um yeah,hold on Johnny" I say while Dallas grads my arm and pulls me outside the house.
"Gosh what's up?" I ask "Shut up you know what you're doing" "what do you mean?!" I ask confused."Don't try to get Johnny in your trap" He lift his finger and points it at me,"What? I'm not even doing anything!" I slap his hand."Hey! Watch it,Johnny does not need you." He grabs my wrist. "Dallas,let the fuck go" I push him.
He was silent for about 5 seconds but I saw his anger building up as he took a step forward.
"What? Do you need to say something hood!?" I yell at him. I knew what was coming,I still decided to press him. "Just stay away from Johnny" "What if I don't? How about I go and start kissing him and hugging him-" Even thought I was bluffing,that was his breaking point. He slapped me,again.
I wasn't shocked I just stood there."Now do what I said" Dallas shouts and walks away.
I pulled out a cigarette and lit it then sat on the steps. I could feel a bruise already forming on my eye. A few minutes later Darry came outside."Hey Nora,why are you out here?" He asks while looking down at me. "Oh,just got into a fight with Dallas again,nothing big" I say in a sarcastic tone.
"What? Get up" he says. I stand up and step in-front of him."Oh my,I'm sorry come on let's get you cleaned up" he puts his arm around me.
We walk into the house and I see Johnny sitting on the couch watching some random movie.I had totally forgotten about him after Dallas left.
"Nora,what happened?" He rushes toward me after seeing my face.
"Dallas" I say with a straight face.
"jesus,why this time?" "He thinks i'm trying to get with you" I say with a small laugh.
Before Johnny could reply Darry yells for Ponyboy."What are you doing?!" I quickly turn to Darry."Well he's your boyfriend,he should be here" Johnny and I turn to each other.
"what's up?" Ponyboy walks in the living room."Can you get the first aid kit for Nora" He points to the cabinet. "What?Why what happened?" He ushers towards me.
I turn to him and he sees the cut and bruise."Are you okay? What happened" He slowly rubs my back with one hand. "I'm fine.."
"Come on Nora,I get everything that happened but please.." He moves his hand to my leg.
"It was Dallas" Johnny says.
"Johnny!" "Sorry,but he should know." Pony sighs,he wasn't even shocked at this point.
Darry cleans my eye and goes to his room,he leaves Me Pony and Johnny in the living room.
Ponyboy whispers something to Johnny and then about two minutes later Johnny gets up and walks away.
"Nora can we talk?" Pony asks and turns.
"Oh uh sure,what's wrong?" I answer. "I don't want to lose you" He says before I can even think.
"Pony I don't want to break up but,I think it would be best to have some space-" "No,I need you Nora."
I didn't know what to say,but I couldn't say no to him. "gosh,you win" I say and hug him tight.
I knew we really should have took a break,but I couldn't help it.
1 HOUR LATER
Pony and I have been watching tv for a while.
We hear the door open and see Two-bit walk in.
"Hey kids" He says while taking a sip of his beer.
"Hey two" I say with a laugh. I look over and see Ponyboy is asleep."well,maybe I should also get some sleep." "wait kid,what happened to your eye?" He asks consciously. "oh,Dallas just got mad,it's okay."
Before he can say anything else I get up and went to my room. I hate always having to explain to the gang what happened,they should know by now.Its always a Socs,or Dallas.
NOTE
Sorry it took so long for 1 chapter,i have been struggling with school and things. I have no ideas for any other chapters,but i'll try.
