Violet did not go to school the next day.
"Violet, you're in year 13. You cannot just skip school, you'll fall behind" Pip said, concerned.
Violet didn't reply.
"Cara, remember the money we are getting from the state since when you and Nay adopted us?"
"Naomi has it, why?"
"I need it, soon. As soon as possible."
"Vi, we said we'd save it for your uni fund. Why do you need it?"
"I want to send Lilly to a boarding school. I can't have her witness her mother being a wreck."
"And what about uni?"
"Screw uni."
"Violet, you're not thinking properly. Do you realise what you're about to do? You're sending your kid away and runing your future."
"It's for the best. And about uni, I got offered a scholarship from a good uni, it should cover the first year. Lilly does dancing outside of school, but her new school will offer it, so that's extra money for us. Plus food. It's September, so they should accept her."
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?"
