Luna's POV
I stepped out of the dressing room, twirling in front of the mirror. Claire and Tasha sat on a plush couch, sipping hot coffee and scrutinizing my outfit.
"Honestly, Lu, that dress makes you look like a K-pop doll" Claire said, raising an eyebrow.
Tasha chuckled. "But a gorgeous doll!" I laughed, adjusting the fitted waist.
"You guys are always saying I dress too bland. Help me pick something bold."
Claire jumped up. "That's why we're here! Try this one." She handed me a fitted, emerald-blue dress with delicate snowflake patterns. I hesitated, but Tasha's encouraging nod convinced me.
As I changed, Claire chattered about Winter Formal. "It's going to be magical! The theme is 'Enchanted Winter Night"
"I heard the school's hiring a live band! It's going to be epic! Caden and the London will be there." My stomach fluttered at the mention of Caden's name, but I pushed the feeling aside.
When I emerged from the dressing room, Tasha whistled. "Wow, Lu! You're rocking that dress!"
Claire beamed. "Told you it would look amazing!" I admired myself in the mirror, feeling a confidence boost.
"This is the one," I declared.
Tasha grinned. "Now, let's find shoes and accessories to match."
As we explored the store, Tasha's infectious laughter and Claire's witty remarks made me feel carefree. For the first time in weeks, I wasn't thinking about school, Oliver or Caden. Just friendship, fashion, and fun.
"We should get our hair and makeup done together, too," Claire suggested, holding up a pair of glittering earrings.
"Absolutely!" Tasha exclaimed. "I know a great salon that does amazing updos."
I nodded, envisioning the perfect Winter Formal look. "Two weeks can't pass fast enough."
Claire checked her phone. "Exactly 14 days, 3 hours, and 12 minutes until Winter Formal."
Tasha chuckled. "Someone's counting down."
I grinned. "We have to make this night unforgettable."
As we departed the store, arms laden with shopping bags, Claire turned serious.
"Lu, have you thought about who you're going with?" My mind flashed to Caden, but I quickly pushed the thought away. Why am I thinking of him? Stupid mind!
"I haven't asked anyone yet," I admitted.
Tasha's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Maybe we can find someone special to ask you." She continued, her voice low and smooth, like basketball player strategizing a slam dunk. "I don't mind going with you, darling"
Claire playfully rolled her eyes. "Tasha, don't meddle." I laughed, feeling a flutter in my chest.
As we left the mall, the evening sun cast a warm glow over the parking lot. We slipped into Claire's sleek Audi, Tasha sliding into the driver's seat with ease. The engine purred to life, and we glided out of the parking lot.
The soundtrack for our ride was Jungkook's Golden Album, Tasha and Claire surprisingly are vibrant about K-pop. I couldn't help but grin as they sang along to "Hate You" and "Standing next to you" their voices blending in harmony. Feeling carefree, I joined in, our voices merging in perfect sync. For the first time, I felt a deep sense of belonging, my love for K-pop no longer a solo passion.
As we cruised through the streets, Tasha expertly navigated the roads, Claire tapping her hands to the beat. Before long, Tasha turned into the parking lot of Louis Café, it's elegant façade glowing softly. We slipped out of the Audi, the night air crisp and inviting. As we stepped into the Café, the warm aroma of baked goods and rich coffee enveloped us. Ava's bright smile greeted us from behind the counter.
