The walk down to town was longer than he would have liked, but nothing bothered Knox as he walked. He sort of wished something had. He wouldn't mind kicking the shit out of someone or something. He was beyond pissed off. Pissed that he hadn't been able to perform, and that she'd screwed him up so much. He wanted to wrap his hand around her damn throat and squeeze the life out of her. If she wasn't already dead.

Knox had never been an angry person. He's always been calm, collected and in control, but Caelan had done a number on him, altering his life and the way he felt about things, and he hated her for it. He'd been happy before. Now, he wasn't sure he'd ever be happy again.

He finally arrived in town and wandered through, looking for a hotel. He needed some sleep, and to get over his pissiness so he could think straight and put a game plan together. He finally spotted one and walked inside and up to the front desk.

The blond woman that was behind it looked up from the book she was reading and smiled at him. "Hi. How are you doing?"

He saw her gaze trail over him and disgust and annoyance filtered through him. "I need a room. Two nights."

"For one?" she asked.

Do I look like I have someone else with me? he wanted to ask her, though he knew he just had a shitty attitude from his lack of performance with Clara. "Yeah. Just one."

She nodded, turning her attention to the computer in front of her, and booked him a room.

Knox paid her, and she handed him the keys to his room. "You have a gym here?"

"Yes, it's down the hall and on the right. There's also a pool if you're interested," she told him, flashing a smile.

"Thanks." He walked away, and headed over to the elevator, taking it up to the second floor. He wanted to go to the gym and burn off some of his anger, but at the moment, he only had one set of clothes, and he didn't want to get them all sweaty. He needed to go shopping and get more clothes.

He opened the room and glanced around. At least it was clean. He sat his bag down, opening it to look inside and smiled. Clara had hooked him up with several needed things. She was a blessing.

Knox grabbed the toothbrush and toothpaste and headed into the bathroom. He brushed his teeth, then checked to make sure the curtains were closed before stripping off his clothes and crawling into bed. He stretched out, pulling the covers up over himself. The bed felt so good. He closed his eyes, and it wasn't long before he was out.

He slept for fourteen hours straight, and even then, he felt like he could sleep longer. Knox laid there, staring up at the ceiling. It felt so good to just sleep in a bed, though this one wasn't overly comfortable. It was hard, but much better than the ground.

He needed to get his ass up and do things though. He needed to come up with a game plan. As much as he'd prefer to continue living as a wolf, Romeo wouldn't let him. It annoyed him to no end that his wolf was being a dick about it, but he didn't have much choice. Which meant he needed things. Starting with food. He was starving.

His thoughts drifted back to his family. He hadn't spoken to any of them in all of this time. Not since he'd left that prison all of those years ago. He had no doubt that now that he'd used his credit card, they'd know where he was. He wasn't sure if they'd show up or not, but frankly, he wasn't ready to see them. Any of them. He needed his space. He needed to get his anger and his dick back under his control.

He got up and got dressed in the same clothes he'd had on last night, then headed out to get something to eat and do some shopping. He needed to get a phone too. He sort of didn't want one, but he needed it.
