Zara sighed softly as soon as she was alone in her room. She wasn't thrilled with the fact that Caelan was Knox's mate, but there was nothing she could do about it. She was ready to go home. It wasn't that she wasn't happy he'd found his mate. She just wanted to get away from this pack sooner rather than later.

The Virginia pack was one of her least favorite packs to visit. Alpha Jensen was one of the most arrogant Alphas Zara had ever had the displeasure of meeting. She felt like he constantly looked down his nose at her, thinking he was better than her. He was also a control freak, and he didn't like her asking questions about anything.

It annoyed her to no end that he completely ignored Knox after their initial greeting, if you wanted to call It that. She knew that Jensen had no idea that Knox was a Remington. She had intentionally not mentioned his last name. But that didn't mean that Knox didn't deserve respect. He was still a member of Regal Eclipse. Even if he wasn't, he shouldn't be ignored like that. No one should be, no matter who they were.

But Knox hadn't said anything and had gone with the flow. Zara had a feeling Romeo, Knox's wolf, was probably pissed off about the whole thing.  The Alpha Prince's wolf wouldn't care for the disrespect. Knox would go with it for now. Mostly because this was her gig and not his.

And now to her frustration, they were stuck here at the Virginia Pack for at least another day. Which meant she was going to have to put up with these annoying men for at least another twenty-four hours. Hopefully Caelan could get her stuff together quickly and they could get out of Dodge.

Zara wondered if Caelan was relieved to find out that she was getting away from this pack. Away from her controlling father and the fact that he didn't seem to want to allow her to become the Alpha that she was born to be.

Zara was a bit disappointed though. She had looked forward to being able to deal with Caelan instead of her father. Now her father would be Alpha for a while longer until his son was of age to take over the pack.

Zara had also noticed the way the Beta's son, Robert, kept looking at Caelan. Either Robert had a crush on her or there was something going on between them. Zara wasn't sure what, but decided it was none of her business. She already knew that Caelan would be focused on Knox now. And she highly doubted that Knox was still a virgin.

Caelan had been the only one to actually take time to talk to Knox. Of course, if she had ignored him, it would have seemed really odd, given that he was her fated mate.

Zara was just glad that her duties were done as pack liaison. Hopefully she could just be seen at meals and nothing else. Speaking of which, she had to head down to dinner.

She walked along the hallway, following her nose to the dining hall. While she'd been here once before, she didn't remember where the dining room was. All the pack houses sort of blended together in her mind after a while. They needed to give out maps for these places. Welcome to Virginia Pack's pack house. Here's a map to find your way around. It wasn't a bad idea.

Her phone rang and she pulled it out of her pocket, seeing that it was her mother. "Hi Mom."

She talked to her for a few moments as she walked along, letting her mother know that she wasn't going to be home that day, then ended the call before she walked into the dining room.

Alpha Jensen and his Gamma, whose name she couldn't remember, both looked up at her.

The Gamma stood and headed her way. "Princess Zara. As always, a pleasure." He bowed to her, then left the room.

Zara watched him go, then looked back at Alpha Jensen. He was glaring at her. She had a feeling if looks could kill, and she wasn't immortal, she'd be dead right now. It was like the man hated her. He didn't even know her. How could he hate her?
