Lost in Lies

Chapter 6

The subsequent weeks seemed to go by in a flash of interviews, PR shoots, University assessments and, in the small amount of time the two actually had spare, spending more time in Kim's apartment either talking or playing silly tunes in Kim's home studio. In that time the two had found out some interesting things about each other. Kim had found out......purely accidentally......that Chay was extremely ticklish around his ribs and lower back, not that he had exploited that weakness........much. He had also found out that the younger man enjoyed playing computer games, had never drunk alcohol, would eat anything and everything, and often needed a little prodding to get on with his university assessments. As adult as Chay looked, and often behaved, it seemed that even he still fell victim to the university pitfall of 'I'll do it later' that killed so many students. Chay had found out a few things about Kim as well, things that he hadn't been sure would destroy the 'idol' image in his head or enhance it. For starters Kim sometimes struggled writing songs, for example Kim had been working writing the same song for nearly a week and hardly gotten anywhere, something that had never occurred to Chay when it came to an idol like WIK. Another thing was that Kim often wore simple clothing like T shirts and sweatpants around the house, not that it took anything away from the way the man looked, but it was interesting to see that even Kim didn't wake up in the morning with perfect hair, wearing leather jackets and skinny jeans!

Some quite amusing things that Chay had found out though were,

Kim hated Brussels. It didn't matter how you hid the vegetable, Kim acted like a 5-year-old whenever he saw it. It was quite amusing to see actually.

Kim LOVED, horror movies. In fact, loved them too much in some ways. Chay would watch Kim more than the movie when they had one on. The older man would get waaay too involved in the movie and Chay had never seen anyone correct a movie on the best way to dispose of a decapitated head before. It was odd.

Kim was a neat freak. Chay had a bit of fun sometimes in leaving his shoes on the opposite side of Kim's entrance hall, only to see how long the older man could hold off before moved to tidy them up.

Kim didn't watch TV. Chay could kinda understand an actor not watching tv but Kim was a singer, and its not like he was just avoiding watching himself of TV either. Kim just didn't watch anything unless Chay bullied him into it.

As comfortable as the two had become in their own little bubble, it was soon burst when Chay received a message from Nile one morning summoning him to Kim's apartment by midday. Chay had only just woken up and it was still only just 8am, but something inside his mind clicked into place when he read the text message. The date! Today was a month since he had agreed to be Kim's pretend boyfriend, that meant today was the day he would officially step into public for the first time.

It was the day of Kim's album launch.

Despite two showers, fixing his hair three times and changing his clothes more times than he could count, Chay was still nervous when he arrived at Kim's apartment door later that day. He was a little late thanks to a traffic jam holding his bus up for twenty minutes, which had only served to heighten his nerves.

The first time he had been late to a meeting....... any meeting....... with Kim just had to be on a day like this didn't it......of course it did.......... the universe hated him!

'Chay!' Kim's voice sounded a little concerned as it cut through the small internal freakout.

Chay stared at Kim, who stared back for a moment, the open door still in his hand, before Chay screwed his eyes shut in embarrassment. Today was really not going how he wanted it to.
