Lost in Lies

Chapter 17

(A slight time jump in which, Chay finishes university, WIK gets back on stage and Nile contemplates the everyday stress he is going to have with both men in his life.)

'For a superstar, who can write songs, music and many other things and is adored by millions, you really suck at getting yourself dressed!' Chay grumbled playfully as he did up the row of buttons on Kim's shirt.

The wardrobe people were stood in the back of the changing room trying their best not to laugh. The loving couple always had this argument every time Chay was backstage at one of Kim's concerts. Chay would grumble that Kim never knew how to dress himself, particularly that he didn't seem to know what the top buttons of a shirt were for, as he never used them! Kim would respond that Chay liked dressing him so it didn't really matter if he could do it himself. As for the shirts, as soon as they were in private Chay would rip them off him anyway so what was the point of doing them all the way up! Chay would then groan theatrically that Kim was an adult and should be able to DO UP clothing as well as undo it, which he was quite proficient at, and as for the shirts, well they weren't at home so Kim needed to stop looking like a slut. This argument would go round and round in circles until Kim gave up and let Chay do up the shirt as he wanted, normally involving the top button at the collar, and Chay then pretended he didn't see Kim undo the damn thing all over again 30 seconds later.

In the early stages of the relationship, the staff, especially those in charge of the wardrobe, had thought the argument was a real one, and that it might cause real problems between the pair. They had heard of some Idols who had changed their look completely after getting into relationships and that had caused headaches not only for the labels they worked for, but also for the wardrobe departments who had to find a new look for the new requirements. Luckily though, in this case the 'arguments' seemed more playful than anything else and the staff had soon settled down to enjoy the domestic chaos that always came with Kim's partner appearing backstage.

Kim and Chay had been together over a year and a half at this point, but it was only in the last 4 months that Chay had really begun spending much time in his boyfriend's professional life. Before that the younger partner had been busy in university, which he passed with flying colours, as well dealing with the problems that naturally came with being the partner of a famous idol. There had been many occasions where the fame of one partner had been too much for the non-famous one and the stress of everything had split the couple up. Anyone who knew this couple where happy this had not happened in this case, if anything the stresses the two had been through had bought them closer together with each man supporting the other as and when required.

'The girls love seeing him dressed like that!' Nile chimed in, waving for the wardrobe people to leave the room. 'You know that Chay, stop being selfish just because he's yours.

Chay smirked.

'I know that. One of the first things I learned is that Kim is mine, but WIK isn't, Nile. It's just, why have the buttons on the stupid shirt if he isn't going to use them?' Chay asked, his voice carefully balanced.

Kim grinned as he rested his head on Chay's shoulder, taking care not to disturb the makeup and hair which had already been done.

'That's really a pet peeve of yours, isn't it?........I know, why don't I ask my wardrobe team to remove ALL the buttons from ALL my shirts.........that way you don't have to worry about it anymore.' Kim spoke in an overly innocent voice.

Chay shoved him off with a huff, which had Nile laughing and Kim toppling off the chair he was sat on and landing in an undignified heap on the floor.

'Slut!' Chay muttered, trying to act indignant and not laugh at the same time, while failing on both counts.
