Bay and Bucky stepped out into the gentle, sunlit day, hand in hand, ready to explore the bustling park nearby. The early morning rays painted everything in a warm glow, and Bay could feel the excitement radiating from his young son. Bucky's eyes widened as they neared the small petting zoo section, his little hand tightening around Bay's as he pointed toward the various animals with wide-eyed wonder.

"Daddy, look! Bunnies!" Bucky whispered, his voice filled with awe. Bay couldn't help but chuckle at his son’s enthusiasm. Every animal seemed to captivate Bucky, his eyes bright with fascination as he darted his gaze between the rabbits, ponies, and even the ducks lazily floating on the pond nearby.

Bay knelt down to his son’s height, watching Bucky’s animated face as he continued to gaze around. "You really like the animals, huh?" he asked, giving Bucky a soft smile.

Bucky nodded vigorously. "Yeah! Daddy, can we have one at home?" He looked up at Bay with hopeful eyes, speaking in the same quiet voice as if the animals might hear him and take offense if he spoke too loudly. "Please?"

Bay bit back a grin, holding Bucky’s tiny hand in his own. He knew exactly what was coming next, and, ever the loving husband, he wasn’t about to be the one to outright deny their son his wish. "Well," Bay began thoughtfully, "how about when we get home, you ask Papa? I think he'd be the best one to ask."

A mischievous gleam appeared in Bucky’s eyes, clearly pleased with the plan. Papa could never resist Bucky’s sweet requests, and Bay was sure Pur’s reaction would be as priceless as ever. Despite his initial reluctance to add to their family, Bay loved how Pur was always willing to consider things for Bucky’s sake.

As they continued their stroll through the park, Bay couldn't help but think about the last conversation he and Pur had about expanding their family. After six years of marriage, their home had settled into a perfect routine of just the three of them. Bay had always enjoyed the balance, the stability, and even the quiet moments they shared together as a small family unit. Pur, on the other hand, had recently brought up the idea of giving Bucky a sibling. The topic had caught Bay off guard, and he’d tried to put it aside, hoping that Pur might eventually drop the subject.

But as Bay looked at his son, giggling with pure joy over a baby goat nibbling at some hay nearby, he understood Pur’s wish a bit better. Bucky thrived on the companionship and attention they gave him, his imagination and joy infectious in everything he did. Watching Bucky light up over every little creature at the zoo, Bay could admit – if only to himself – that he could see why Pur might want another child to fill their home with even more life.

“Daddy, do you think Papa would say yes?” Bucky asked again, as they moved along, tugging Bay out of his thoughts.

Bay knelt down and brushed a strand of hair from Bucky’s forehead, grinning playfully. "I think Papa would have a hard time saying no to you, especially when you ask him with those big eyes of yours."

Bucky giggled, clearly delighted. “I’m gonna ask him as soon as we get home!”

The pair walked on, with Bay keeping a steady pace, letting Bucky lead him from one animal pen to another. Each new discovery brought another burst of excitement from his son, and Bay could feel his own heart swell as he watched Bucky so happily immerse himself in the experience.

After a few hours of exploration, they finally made their way back home. Pur was waiting for them at the door, leaning casually against the frame with a knowing smile. Bucky barely let Bay get the door open before he raced inside, practically launching himself into Pur's arms.

“Papa!” Bucky exclaimed, clinging onto Pur as he looked up with his most pleading expression. “Can we get a bunny? Please?”

Pur shot Bay a playful look over Bucky’s head, clearly picking up on who had encouraged their son to ask him. “Oh, a bunny, huh?” he replied, his tone teasing. “Did Daddy tell you to ask me that?”
