ENID
It had already been a week and two days since I met with Cedar at the cafe to talk.
And, on Friday evening, when I was planning to go on a third date with Seth, Maya came over the same day. She planned to stay the night.
I made my way over to her and plopped down beside her on the bed while still having my bathrobe on, "Are you sure you're fine staying alone at your place? I could come and stay with you, or you could come and stay with me," I suggested.
She fell on her back on the bed in exasperation, "Enid, I'm pregnant, not dying. I'll be fine." She assured me for the third time that evening.
Seeing that there was no convincing her, I clucked my tongue before rising up again to go and sit before my dresser to do my makeup, but I didn't get to doing that immediately.
However, making up my mind to trust her to be fine staying alone like she said she would, I turned abruptly in my seat to face her, "You promise?"
"I promise. In fact, I feel like throwing something at you right now." She groaned.
Knowing I'd pushed her to the wall, I sniffled before saying in a small voice, "I'll take your word for it." I sat to face the mirror again while trying to suppress a smile, and this time, I began to apply my makeup until I remembered that she was going to tell me something earlier.
I turned to face her, "You wanted..." I was saying when I noticed the strangely familiar object on her face, above her lips. "Is that... is that my false moustache?" I was stunned, to say the least.
Smiling sheepishly, she wiggled her eyebrows.
"It was you who took it," I stated upon the realization. "You searched around for that with me. You even said that if it was stolen, whoever did such evil act would fall down from a cassava tree."
What even does a cassava tree look like?
"I did a facetime with you that day and you were so against me buying it. Now, I'm the one who feels like throwing something at you right now." I said while glaring at her.
While we were in college, I bought the false moustache from a costume store during one of our study tours. I thought it could be a good disguise for whenever I needed it.
"What? It's nice and a good disguise."
"Wow, I can't believe you right now."
Resuming my makeup application, I was done fifteen minutes later.
I proceeded to don the short bodycon emerald green dress that I picked for the evening date afterwards. Then, a black jacket. I slipped my feet into a pair of black heels as well.
The second date had been at an art exhibit. This time, it was a dinner date at a 7-star restaurant.

~An hour later~Suddenly aware of what was about to happen, I shifted away from him before his lips could meet mine.
He evidently seemed taken aback by my reaction and was about to say something, but I beat him to it, "I... I need to use the restroom." I didn't wait for his response to that before quickly rising to my feet and leaving the reserved table, my steps a bit quickened.
Arriving there shortly after, I almost bumped into a lady who was just about leaving the restroom as I made to go inside. I apologised to her before walking further inside.
Since I couldn't spot anyone else, aside from the lady who just left, I simply went to stand before the mirror and just stared at my own reflection in it for no particular reason.
