Moon Chronicles: Trick-Or-Trouble

It's Halloween!

It was a pitch black night in New York City. October 31st, to be exact. To be even more exact, it was Halloween.

And down in the sewers, our heroes celebrated by having a quick get-together before they would go out and go trick-or-treating as a group. The group had a young man named Jake, his siblings, Makayla Light and Douxie, his girlfriend, April O'Niel, his friend, Mars Caldera, and four mutant turtles known as Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo.

"Oh, I can't wait for our fun night out on the town!" Makayla said, sounding excited. "We're gonna have so much fun!"

"Yeah. Especially since this is the one day of the year we can actually be ourselves." Mikey said. "No dressing up needed."

"That's fair." Makayla said.

"Humans really are blind, huh?" Douxie said. "You're still giant mutant turtles."

"Yeah, but. . . no one's gonna think twice on Halloween." Raph said. "Besides, we don't have any costumes this year anyway. We don't need them."

"You could always go as a fairy princess again, Raph." Mikey said with a smirk.

"That was one time!" Raph said, angrily. "And why must you bring that up again? And in front of Jake as well!"

"What are you dressing up as, Nora?" Douxie asked.

"I figured I'd stick to my roots and go as a traditional demon." Makayla said with a smile. "You know, red with the horns and the weird triangle tail?"

"Ah, interesting." Douxie said.

"What about you, Doux?" Makayla asked.

"Well. . . I actually wasn't gonna dress up." Douxie said. "I don't have a costume."

"Aww, that's a shame." Makayla said, sadly.

"I bet you'd look cute in the fairy princess outfit." Jake said, with a sly smirk.

"I will banish you to the moon!" Douxie said, sounding a bit angry at Jake's remark.

Jake playfully rolled his eyes as he just turned his attention back elsewhere.

"Well, I'm gonna be the best hero over ever known!" Mars said with a smile.

"Captain Ryan?" Leo asked, taking a wild guess.

"Nope. Not even close." Mars said. "I'm dressing up as Captain Marvel!"

"Who?" Donnie asked.

"Oh, right. . . you new gens don't know about Marvel." Mars said with a scoff.

"We're the same age." Raph said, bluntly.

"Barely." Mars said.

"You're only a year older than us." Raph said.

"Why don't you go play with your dolls!" Mars scoffed.

"Let's not start a fight now." Leo said. "We're gonna have fun tonight, right?"

"Oh, that reminds me." Makayla said. "What are you dressing up as, bro?"

"Oh, I'm not gonna." Jake said.

"What, why not?" Makayla asked. "Even April is dressing up! Why aren't you?"

"Yeah, you don't want to match with your sexy maiden feline?" April asked with a smirk as she playfully nudged Jake. "I know under all this innocence, you're a nasty dog."

"I'm not!" Jake said, blushing. "I just. . . I don't really feel like it, that's all."

"Huh. . . now I can guess who's the dominant one in the relationship." Douxie said.

"Maybe you could go as a vampire." Makayla said. "That would be cool, right?"

"Huh. . . I guess that could be cool to be." Jake said. "I am half-vampire, after all."

"Does this mean I get to take over for the night?" Night Shade suddenly asked.

'Yeah, right.' Jake said, while shaking his head. 'In my dreams, Night Shade.'

"Damn. . ." Night Shade said, sounding defeated.

"Ah, yeah!" Mikey said, sounding excited. "Let's have a fun night, everyone!"

"Wait a second." Makayla said. "Do we want to invite the rest of our friends to come with us? You know. . . Shane, Gracie, and Elexa?"

"That would be fine." April said. "I think?"

"Yeah, I think they'd love to join us." Jake said. "Especially Shane. He's been wanting to hang out a lot lately."

"I'll text them." Mars said.

"Alright, looks like we've got a group trick-or-treating plan ahead!" Mikey said.

"Huh. . . it's a little weird still." Jake said. "Aren't we too old for this sort of stuff by now?"

"Hey. . . look at me, bro." Makayla said, in a serious tone and getting in Jake's face with a serious look on her face. "You're never too old for free candy. Never!"

"Alright. . . noted." Jake said.

"Hell yeah! Let's get ready to ring doorbells and get some treats!" Mars said, excitedly.

"Booyakasha!" Mikey said, lumping his fist in the air. "High three, sista from another mista!"

Mars and Mikey then gave each other an enthusiastic high-five.

"Wow, all this excitement to get some sugar-coated morsels from strangers." Douxie said, not really understanding the hype of the holiday. "I don't think I'll ever understand your modern holiday traditions like this one."

"If you can learn to love Christmas, then you can love Halloween too." Makayla said, nudging the black and indigo streak haired boy. "Now, let's dress up and get going!"

Everyone nods as they all headed out to prepare for the night ahead.

But little did they know, was that something was going to happen that would lead them all to a night full of terror.
