TW: Some violence, not too bad here.
??? PoV:
I sat at the top of the hill, staring down at the house below me. My armor clanked, steam drifting into the air before dissipating, reminding me of the curse the mutt bound me to. My sword rested on my back, and I glared when I saw the mutt patrolling around the house's grounds, their shaved head visible in the weak sun. Before I really registered it, I had jumped down, armor clattering from the impact.
"I'M GOING TO BREAK YOU, MUTT!" I roared, unsheathing my sword, swinging at them in a flash of silver. They ducked my blow, their multi-colored eyes meeting mine for a moment, before they shoulder-checked me backwards. I growled, charging forth once more, swinging wildly, chaining it into an elegant swipe that nearly took their arm off. They charged, sliding under me, and kicking out my knee. I roared as I fell, throwing them off when they tried to remove my helmet.
"I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU INTO A MANTELPIECE, YOU MANGY DOG!" I stomped towards them, steam billowing out of my armor, my blade beginning to glow red with heat. The mutt pulled out a dagger, raising it in a defensive way. We were both halted, though, by a pair of gasps, and I looked to see a pumpkin-headed creature holding a trowel, and what looked to be a regular human, though when I inspected closer I saw the ears and tail of a cat.
"MORE CREATURES, MUTT? FINE, I'LL RID US OF YOUR COMPANY FIRST!" I charged them, my sword smoking now, bright red with heat, my armor trailing scalding steam behind me. The mutt ran into it on accident, yowling and jumping to the side to avoid the heat. I grinned, my blade raising high, and I brought it down at the cat creature, who tried to dodge, though I knew it was futile. Before my blade connected, however, I was slammed into by something small, knocking me to the side. I growled, standing up to see another creature in funeral garb, dolls floating around it. It pointed at me, and I roared in challenge, charging with my sword held high.
Y/N PoV:
My eyes widened as the knight was knocked to the side, and I looked to see Donna there, an army of dolls with her. I looked at the knight, who was charging again, and saw a strange piece of machinery on their armor, steam billowing out of it. As they fought Donna, I saw their sword continuing to get hotter and hotter, and I knew Donna couldn't handle all of her dolls getting destroyed like this for much longer. Before it could escalate further, Rowan grabbed the knight, wrestling them to the cliffside and throwing them off. They fell, and I heard a roar of defiance, a clatter of armor hitting the ground following.
"Fuck you!" Rowan yelled down the cliff, and I heard one in response. I peeked over the edge to see the knight standing there, missing an arm, though steam was billowing out of the broken armor rather than blood. They yelled profanities up at us, before finally stomping off, steam leaving them rapidly. Rowan turned to me, wiping the sweat off their brow.
"Ya good there? That bitch hits pretty damn hard." I nodded slowly, before rushing over to Donna, who groaned and sat up, looking exhausted. I helped her sit up, Rose rushing outside to help me lift her and carry her inside.
"I feel veryyyyyyy sleepyyyyyyyy..." Donna murmured, before promptly passing out. I checked her pulse, and sighed in relief when it was strong. I let Rose take care of her from there, who promptly carried her to a couch and cuddled her. I went to talk to Mira, Mia, and Bela, seeing Rowan already there.
"So... What was that?" Mira growled, her eyes stormy, golden claws making marks in the table. Mia gently rubbed her back, and Bela immediately hugged me when she saw me, the other two following suit. That didn't change for a few minutes, before Rowan cleared their throat.
"Hey, bosses... Kinda need ta tell ya about the existential threat in our backyard." We grumbled and separated, letting Rowan explain what had just happened outside.
"That was my old colleague. Well, okay, we were pretty damned good friends, and I think she wanted to ask me out at one point. Always real shy, that one... At any rate, she didn't know I was a werewolf. The people I worked with and for... We were exterminators, fighting and killing feral monsters that threatened humanity. She was part of an order, however, that hates monsters as a whole, so when she found out, she was none too pleased. We fought, and fought, and fought, and eventually it ended with her crippled and dying. I tried to help her, save her, but she wouldn't even let me get close, throwing silver nuggets at me. After that... Well, her masters still saw the worth in her, and now she has one massive ass vendetta against me." Rowan sighed, finishing their story, and we all stared at them for a moment.
"I don't even where to start with that, but priority number one, can she die?" Miranda asked, a slightly murderous look in her eye as her arm wrapped around me protectively. Rowan sighed again, before nodding slowly.
"Yes. I think. She's missing an arm and a leg from our last real fight, but evidently they've gotten around that. Left arm and right leg are her weakpoints, if I remember correctly." They looked at us, and I could see a hint of remorse in their eyes at the admission. I cocked my head slightly, but didn't ask them any questions.
"Good. Next time she tries to hurt our kitty, we'll make sure she doesn't see the light of day again." Mia growled, Bela and Mira nodding in agreement. Rowan groaned, gently rubbing their face.
"Won't be so simple... It's unlikely she's alone, and she's a solid fighter. Gave me a lot of scars in our last big fight. That sword is also made to kill supernatural creatures naturally, so it'll be our biggest problem." Miranda sighed, pacing around the room, and I gulped, worried about this new threat to our family as a whole.
Well hello there! I am back from a far longer hiatus than I would've liked, but I am here! I made the brilliant decision to take college classes in high school, so now I spend half of my day at a college as well as high school. Honestly, not that bad, but that whole rush of paperwork and my terrible time management/schedule making ability has made me completely forget about actually getting this story updated. Do not worry, I will provide lots of fluff in between the serious chapters like this one, so don't worry about that. So, when I do update this again, it will be fluff. Dunno about smut yet, I have no experience writing it, but we will see. At any rate, have a lovely day, and goodbye!
