Outside Priyal's Villa:Same night, continued.
"Werewolves," Daksh mindlinked the pack.
Daksh, now back in human form, crouched on the villa's edge, his eyes scanning the road cut into the mountains. He spotted them-two figures, barely visible in the moonlight, standing beside a car.
" Two. They're watching us from the road." He reported through the mindlink, his voice steady but taut with anticipation "Looks like they are observing us".
Vyom's eyes flickered as his gaze turned towards the road.
"Stay where you are," Priyal commanded through the mindlink, but Vyom had already made up his mind.
He jumped from the terrace shifting mid air tearing his clothes. His transformation was fierce, his golden fur shimmering under the moonlight as he landed gracefully beside Daksh, who was now standing naked, tense, and alert. Vyom's wolf was a sight to behold-large, powerful, with a golden mane that shone even in the shadows of the forest. His yellow eyes were sharp, scanning the horizon, seeking out the wolves that Daksh had detected.
Ranveer: "I'll shift too."
"Do not attack!" Priyal interjected, her voice laced with urgency. "The road is used by humans, and we have monks living nearby."
Just then, a bell rang from the section of the villa occupied by the monks, its echo resounding through the valley-a familiar sound at 10 p.m.
"Daksh: "They're moving."
From his vantage point, he watched as the two figures retreated, turning away from them and heading back toward their car. They hadn't engaged; no fight had broken out. They had come, observed, and now were leaving without uttering a single word.
Daksh: "They're gone."" he relayed through the mindlink, relief washing over him like a tide.
Arihant: "Maybe it was the bells."
Maya: "What if they come back?"
"They won't," Priyal reassured her, placing a comforting hand on Maya's shoulder. "For now, we need to focus on your health. The first trimester is crucial, and you need to rest."
As the night deepened, Ranveer shifted into his wolf form and took a few laps in the forest, scanning for any lingering threats. His assessment was clear. "They don't seem like rogues," he mindlinked.
Priyal turned to Daksh. "We'll need help. Contact Uncle. We need to check the Lycan records."
The atmosphere remained tense, as though the shadows of the night held secrets they were not yet ready to uncover.
