Dun Pack House:Two days after full moon.
Tanishq sat behind the polished wooden desk, flanked by his closest advisors: Arav, Samar, Ishaan, Rudra, and Advik. The faint hum of the air conditioning mixed with the rustling of papers, but the silence was heavy, filled with unspoken concerns about the newcomers in their territory.
Samar was the first to break the silence. “They’re doing nothing. All of them have been holed up in that villa for the past two days.”
Rudra spoke next, his tone steady. “Except for Arihant. He’s busy with his hospital duties.”
Samar’s frustration bubbled to the surface. “What if we just grab him? We can catch him on his way.”
Rudra shook his head. “The hospital is teeming with humans. Plus, I’ve observed him—he’s minding his own business.”
Ishaan chimed in, an edge of excitement in his voice. “We could always kidnap him on the road. The human settlement is to the west, and rarely anyone comes down the east side.”
“Except for us and those dogs” Samar retorted, a bitter edge in his tone.
Arav glanced at Tanishq, choosing his words carefully. “Tanishq, maybe we can talk to them. So far, they’ve been harmless, and since they’re students in college, the Northern Alliance Treaty—”
He was cut off by Advik. “That treaty was signed fifty years ago.”
“But it’s still in force,” Tanishq interjected, determined to keep his point alive.
Samar frowned. “They still need our permission. They can’t just barge into anyone’s territory.”
Tanishq turned his gaze to Arav, silently asking for his assessment. Arav nodded slightly. “I managed to get two of our men into the admin department. The posts are contractual and temporary,” he explained, hinting at the bribes that had smoothed their way in.

“Call them in to talk to us directly,” Tanishq ordered, a hint of authority in his voice. Samar opened his mouth to protest, but Tanishq’s low growl silenced him.
“I don’t want unnecessary bloodshed. Plus, they don’t seem like rogues,” Tanishq continued, his focus narrowing. “You thought they were betas, right?” he questioned Rudra and Ishaan.
“Yes, his wolf was huge,” Ishaan replied, still unsure.
“Betas, my ass,” Samar murmured under his breath, earning a sharp look from Tanishq.
With a frustrated sigh, Samar left the office, clearly agitated. Tanishq turned back to his advisors. “Make the meeting happen,” he instructed Arav, his tone leaving no room for argument.
