I was laying down on Shannon's bed, my head resting on her pillow while she was sitting cross legged on the end of the bed with her math books in front of her.
"Do you not have homework, Del?" Shannon asked, looking over at me, I shook my head. "No, I lost my school bag and I need your old BCS shirt."
Shannon tilts her head in confusion then her expression turns sad. "It's in the wardrobe, and you lost your school bag yesterday, right?"
I give her a curt nod, staring back up at the ceiling. "Delilah, you can tell me what happened, you know, I'm your twin sister, you can trust me." Shannon speaks again, moving up her bed towards me.
"I do trust you, and honestly all they did was rip my shirt open and then I ran. that's it." I explained, and my sister frowned. "Joey should know."
"Shan." I shook my head, and she sighed. "Fine. I won't tell him."
Someone knocks on our bedroom door, which means Shannon and I look away from each other and go to the door. "Girls, It's me." Joey called out, I got up off the bed to go unlock the door.
"What's up, Joe?" Shannon asked as I pulled open our door. "I'm going to the shop, Do you two want anything?"
"Where's Aoife?" I asked, sitting down on my bed, she was here and It wasn't uncommon for them to stay at each other's houses on a school night and head to school together. They were at the age where sleepovers were allowed. Or at least, no one ever said a word to Joey when he brought a girl home.
There was a huge case of double standards in this house – a house that had been exceptionally quiet this weekend, since our father was in rare form, and behaving like a human.
"In my room."
"Is she staying over?" Shannon wondered and Joey nodded, "Yeah."
"Do you want something from the shop or not?" Joey asked, sounding impatient. "It's closing soon."
Shannon glanced at the screen of her phone to check the time, "Why are you going to the shop so late?" She questioned. "What do you need that's so important?"
Joey grinned. "Do you want me to answer that honestly?"I pretend to gag, "Ew Joey." and Shannon groaned. "No I don't, Go away."
"Night, Shan, Night Delilah." He chuckled, closing our door. "Be safe!" Shannon called after him. "I'm too young to be an auntie!" I added, and Shannon laughed, before her phone started ringing.
"Who is it?" I asked, She looked down at her phone, "It's Claire, close the door."
I nod and get off the bed, closing the door and turning the lock. "Put the phone on speaker."
Shannon nodded, and answered the call. "Hello?"
"Hey chick-a-bee." Claire said happily, as I sat down next to my sister. "What are you doing next weekend?"
