"Delilah, Please."

"No." I snapped, "I don't want to talk to you."

Since Nicholas and I are still in the same french class- which I haven't had a problem with because,  last Monday was the first time he's said anything to me since the whole thing with the weed brownies.

But today as soon as I sat down he was right there next to me and has been begging me to hear him out and he had a reason as to why he did what he did last week the whole entire class.

I figured once the bell rang I could escape him but as soon as I stood up he grabbed onto my arm and hasn't let go since.

"I know, and I understand. But I just need you to hear me out."

I turn to look at him, and he looks back at me with pleading eyes. So I drag him over to the lockers to get out of everyone else's way, because I know how annoying it is when people just stop walking in the middle of the hallway.

"Go on then, start talking. But make it quick, because I have places to be." I say, pulling my arm out of his grip so I can cross my arms over my chest.

"Can we do it privately..?"

"Absolutely not. If we're going to talk, we're doing it here with people around."

"Delilah." Nicholas starts, putting his hand on my hip. "I know I fucked up, again,  I am really sorry. But you seriously need to understand that I had to do that, you don't understand what it's like for me at home.."

I actually have to stop myself from scoffing. I don't understand what it's like for him at home?

Seriously? Does he know who he's talking to?

"Well then tell me why you seriously had to do that? Nicholas, because you locked me in a room, with people you know who have been bullying me-and to think that I forgave you for the whole brownie thing. and then you go and do that-"

"I told you that I live with Grant, right?" Nicholas cuts me off, his voice low. I nod, "Yeah, you told me that."

Because they're cousins.

"I don't think I ever told you why..last year in November, my parents were in the car and they crashed.."

"Oh, Nicholas. I'm so sorry."

Oh my god. I may not like my parents most of the time, but I could never imagine them dying.

"They both had really bad like injuries or whatever, and they both died on the way to the hospital..which is why me and my older brother had to move in with them, but you should know that my Dad never liked his brother, the Baxter's were kind of like the outcasts of my family, they weren't invited to Christmas, birthdays, stuff like that."

"You don't have to explain this to me, I get it. I forgive you." I cut in, but he shakes his head, "No, No, don't say that- I don't want forgiveness, I just need to explain."
