Zarc decided to help Yoko with the dishes after dinner, as thanks for the wonderful meal, while his Yuus played with the pets. Yoko seemed quite happy with the help and the chance to spend some time with one of her new boys. She was quite curious about Zarc, after all.

"So, Zarc," Yoko said as she rinsed the soap suds off a plate. "Why exactly do you dislike Yusho so much?"

"Cuz he's a threat," Zarc said immediately. "Yuya's too close to him. I don't want that man stealing my Yuu from me."

"Well, what about me?" Yoko asked. "I'm pretty close to Yuya too. But you don't seem to have a problem with me."

"Well, you're not as close to Yuya as that man is," Zarc mumbled, looking away. Yoko raised an eyebrow. "Hmm, something tells me that's not the real reason you dislike Yusho. C'mon, spill."

Zarc was quiet for a long moment. Then he sighed. "He's a threat. I have Yuya's memories, I know how badly that man's disappearance affected Yuya. It's his fault Yuya's been bullied so severely. If that man hadn't left to help Reiji in the war, if he hadn't disappeared on that fateful morning he was supposed to duel, Yuya wouldn't have been labeled the Coward's Son, and he wouldn't've been as severely bullied. If that man had come back instead of staying in the other dimensions, hell, if he'd taken the time to EXPLAIN to you guys what he was going to do, Yuya would've understood why he was gone and would've been able to hold his head high through the bullying knowing that he'd left for a good reason."

Yoko blinked. Zarc's explanation actually did make a lot of sense. Yoko wondered if Yuya might also feel the same way that Zarc did. The tomato-haired boy was rather good at hiding his pain, after all.

Zarc looked at Yoko, meeting her eyes. "That man basically abandoned Yuya, and his abandonment was the direct cause of all the suffering Yuya experienced for three years," he said. "I don't like the fact that Yuya so easily forgave him, and still loves him so much. If Yusho was able to leave without a word for so long and cause Yuya so much suffering the first time, then it's 100% possible that he'll do it again. And I don't want to risk Yuya suffering so much because of his father again."
