The military base

Cody's diary

"Noah is amazing for figuring it all out. He's so handsome... uh... I meant, well... uh, well, sorry. He found out which military base was being targeted by the Black Viper. So we headed for the military base 1 hour before the Vipers were due to attack. Once there, Noah put the military base map he'd hacked onto a tablet. "Well, the secure rooms aren't very complicated to infiltrate. There's only 2 of us and we don't know how many Viper's there are or the stuff that wants to steal. We'll have to deduce." said Noah, 'Yes, but how can we do that?', "My guess is that their target is something unique to this base. If it was guns, they could have just picked it up on the black market.", "That makes sense. But what's unique about this base?", "Fourteen years ago, they had fish sticks capable of turning men into fish men. However, when 2 of the HTDC kids took the sticks, they got rid of them.", 'This material must have been... peculiar.', 'That's for sure.', 'But then, it's not the sticks that are targeted.', "Maybe it is. What's the point of Black Viper?", 'To create as much catastrophe as possible.', "Exactly. If they turned some of them into fish, they'd have underwater access and could more easily trigger a tsunami-style catastrophe.", 'But I thought those sticks were gone.', "The sticks, no. The plans to make them, yes. The plans to make them, yes.", "So that's most likely it. You're really good, Noah.", 'Er... thanks?' he said in astonishment. Wait... what did I tell Noah? Oops.... "Well, never mind," resumed Noah, "the manufacturing plans are in this room. The security is similar to that used by our dear "comrades" from Total Drama in the spy challenge during Action. At the top of the bell where the plans are, there's a ventilation grid. You could hide there. Are you agile enough to avoid the lasers?", 'Yes, but what about the cameras?', "There aren't any in the room... or in the base. I told you, their base is really unsecured.", 'In that case, let's go!' I said as I infiltrated the base."

Noah's diary

"Before leaving, I hacked into the base plans and managed to figure out what Black Viper wanted to steal. Once in front of the base, I shared my theory and Cody complimented me in a... strange way. I admit it made me happy and a little embarrassed, but I don't know why... We then infiltrated the base and quickly found the room. As expected, the room is riddled with lasers. "Well... when it's time to go," says Cody, starting the infiltration. Wow, he's really flexible and agile. He might be a good recruit after all. Plus, he's pretty classy with his moves... what am I writing here? Let's just say I didn't expect that from Cody. There's nothing else. I also started infiltration and I was doing well too. With our agility, we easily managed to wait for the bell. "Now for the hard part. Waiting for the vent," I said to Cody, pointing to the ceiling where the vent is, "Yeah... it's pretty high up, and we're not very tall either. I think if you give me a little push and boost my jump, I'll be able to wait," I said, "It's worth a try. So I positioned myself to support Cody. He managed to reach the grid and hang from it. "Now what?" he asked, "Isn't it obvious? You're obviously doing a dance," he said, "Very funny, Noah. I know you have to open it, but how?", "Swing over to the end of the opening. The grate seems to be like a trapdoor.", 'Don't I risk falling?', 'Yes... but I believe in you.'. I don't know why I told him that, but with my encouragement, he managed to open it, hang on and get into the ventilation. "Now it's your turn," he said, hanging by his feet and holding out his hands. I jumped up and reached him, and he managed to pull me up. Is he really agile and strong enough to do this? He's getting more and more incredible.... I'm going to come to love him as a teammate."

Cody's diary

"We reached the room, managed to avoid the lasers and reach the ventilation. I have to admit, I really liked Noah's encouragement when we opened the gate. I love it when he compliments me, it's worth its weight in gold to me. I don't know why it makes me feel so good. Compliments are always nice, but his are worth more. Once hidden, we waited... and waited... and waited... and I think I fell asleep."

Noah's diary

"We certainly arrived 1 hour before the Black Viper's basic plan, but we waited longer than expected. Obviously, I overestimated Cody because he fell asleep so quickly. He's cute when he sleeps, I didn't want to wake him up. Wait... why do I think he's cute? I know, because I thought of his joke before I left. Eh, in the end, he's the one who fell asleep. What an adorable idiot... just an idiot. I don't know what's gotten into me today, but I'm really nice to this kid. Suddenly, I heard a noise. I saw people downstairs. "Cody wake up.", "Huh? What?", 'There's our enemies down there.', 'What are we doing?', 'Probably a card game, let's see.', 'Okay, I got it.'. So we jumped down and managed to reach a criminal. There were 2 of them. "Gee, I don't think that's yours," I said, "Yeah, it's time for you to visit the prison," added Cody, "It's tempting... but we've got another plan," said the person still standing with a voice that sounded more like an imitation than his real voice. This person threw a ball of smoke, blinding Cody and me. Once the smoke cleared, there was nothing left: neither intruders nor plans. "I think we missed it," said Cody, 'No, you think?', 'Wait... what's this?' said Cody, picking up a diary from the floor. The 1st page contained the Black Viper logo but, obviously, it was all encrypted. "This is a clue. But it leads us nowhere. And this is definitely a unique code," I replied. Indeed, the diary contains nothing but symbols filled with some kind of labyrinth. I'm sure it's related to our mission, but we don't know what else to do. "Should we go back to Hythe?" asked Cody, "We don't have much choice. We might be able to decipher the diary there," I replied. So we headed back to the Nest."
