Noah's Diary

"Our school is in a town inaccessible to the general public: Hythe. Of course, the kid I'm playing with named Cody wanted to go sightseeing. I turned him down. We have a mission, after all. "No, Cody, we're not sightseeing!" I said when Cody asked me for the umpteenth time about sightseeing, 'But, why?', 'Oh, I don't know... randomly: because we've got a mission.', 'You're too serious.', 'And you're not serious enough.', 'See how well we complement each other.', I simply rolled my eyes at this remark and went on my way. We had no clues to identify our enemies, just the fact that we had access to their network but everything was encrypted. "I've got an idea!" suddenly exclaimed Cody, 'Your idea is to stop trying to be a tourist?', 'For the mission.', 'Wow, you're finally getting serious.', 'We've got to manage to decrypt the info.', "No kidding. And it took you all this time to figure it out?", "Would you stop? Encryption can only be decrypted", "We already know it's not a classic Caesar cipher. Apparently, according to our experts, it's something unique. Without the decryption key, we can't do anything", "A key has to be found. Everything is forcible.", 'We have no clue what the key is.', 'What about archives and memories?', 'What do you mean?', 'It's hard to create an encryption, it's almost impossible that no one knows how to decrypt this.', 'Everyone in this town is part of the Nest, no one knows how to decrypt.', 'And outside?', "But yes, let's go and ask some civilians for help. That's what spies often do", 'I'm talking about studying in the library or archives', "The books and archives in Hythe are the most complete for our missions. And one of our missions is to communicate in encrypted form", "Precisely, our missions. The organization we have to find is secret, so they could be using one of our encryptions.", 'We'd have known that by now.', 'But what if it changes a little?', 'Well... you're not going to let go until I follow you, are you?', 'That's right.', 'I hate my life...' I say with a sigh."

Cody's diary

"Noah had helped me decipher the mission order and it's serious stuff. I was so in awe of his ability to decipher it that I kept staring at him and, apparently, blushing. Luckily, he thought I was looking at the wall behind him. How come I blushed when I looked at Noah? Well... it doesn't matter. The school is in the town of Hythe, reserved only for those in the Nest. I wanted to discover the town but Noah refused because he's too serious. I'll invite him for a drink later, I imagine... a drink to discuss the progress of our mission, nothing else... obviously. As we headed out of town, I had an idea for a clue. I mentioned it to Noah and, after much sarcasm and criticism on his part, we headed for the library. Noah read pretty fast and well, I was a bit slower. In the end, one of our enemies' encrypted messages was a mixture of 2 of the known keys and a 3rd one added by the organization. Translated, the only message we could decrypt reads "The apocalypse mission begins in 2 weeks. The Black Viper will eventually destroy the world. Start by stealing the you-know-what from the military base next to the HTDC.", 'Well... I admit it, well done Cody.' said Noah once the message had been deciphered, 'Finally a compliment.', "Don't get too used to it. We don't know what HTDC is... or you-know-what.", 'Maybe, but at least we have the name of the criminal organization: the Black Viper.', "Okay, let's divide up the work. I'll find out what the HTDC and the military base are, and you find out who the Black Viper are. With a bit of luck, we'll come up with some information", 'Good luck, partner', I said, holding out my hand for a high-five, but he gave me the wind. So I went on the Internet looking for information, but of course, nothing. Not in books either. Well, there was one thing I managed to find on the Internet: their logo. But when I clicked on the image, it took me to a page I couldn't find. It's as if the organization didn't exist. So just the logo is useless.

Noah's Diary

"Well... okay, Cody's idea was good. We managed to decipher a message, identify the organization and find the 1st step of their plan. So we got organized: Cody was looking for information on the Viper and I was looking for information on HTDC and a military base. The 1st search result for HTDC was: Hawaii Technology Development Corporation. In other words, nothing to do with what we were looking for. By marking military base and HTDC, the results are not consistent. So I had the idea of researching all the military bases in the world. Some were protected, but hey... I know how to hack. One of the bases I hacked into was next to a facility called Happy Tots Daycare Center, HTDC! Well... there are 2 weird things: this establishment is a kindergarten and, worst of all, it reminds me of something but I don't know what. A few minutes later, I joined Cody and we shared our findings... well, mine."

Cody's diary

"I joined Noah a few minutes later and we shared our findings... well, his. "I haven't found anything except the logo, which isn't much use," I began, "At least we'll be able to identify them if we see the logo. As for me, I managed to find HTDC and the military base", 'Wow, how did you do that?', 'By hacking', 'Do you know how to hack?', "Yes. That's how I became a modo at the age of 6 on a game where the managers were incapable. Anyway, who cares? HTDC is a nursery school called Happy Tots Daycare Center", 'Funny, that name rings a bell', "Mine too, but I can't work out what. Anyway, there's a military base next door", 'Who would build a kindergarten next to a military base or a military base next to a kindergarten?', "No idea. Anyway, HTDC has been abandoned for 14 years. Apparently, whoever was teaching there was incompetent and the kindergarten blew up over 100 times in 1 year", 'The kids who were there must have been terrible', "The HTDC archives have been erased so we'll never know. Anyway, it's the military base we're interested in. Their security looks pretty weak. Seriously, the schoolmaster apparently managed to hack into a military drone. Worse still, the military base had hired 2 of the kindergarten kids. One because he finished a video game, the other because she was good at military life. Well... the 1st turned them down because he missed his best friend too much", 'That's so cute', 'That's so corny', 'You're not the one who would have done that', "Have you seen my friends, too? I would never sacrifice my career for them. Well, all that to say that the Black Viper won't have any trouble stealing the thing that's looking for.", "At least, we won't have any trouble intercepting it either. And you know what they want to steal?", "There's a lot of sensitive stuff on this base. Everything could be stolen. We'll have to be on the lookout", 'Together?', 'Unfortunately, that's the point of cooperating...'. I don't know why, but I felt myself blushing when Noah mentioned a safe house. Spending so much time alone and hidden away, there's something romantic about it... not that I want to be romantic with Noah but... uh... " Why are you blushing?" asked Noah, snapping me out of my reverie, 'Uh... because... I'm hot.', 'The library's air-conditioned.', 'It's defective.', 'It's running at full blast.', 'The window's open.', "It's autumn and windy.", 'Well okay... it's just that I was thinking of a joke I'd like to play.', 'And what's that?', 'Uh... we should avoid falling asleep during our stakeout.', 'No kidding...', 'Well yeah... I don't really want you to kiss my ear again.', 'I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.' he says with an embarrassed laugh. So we leave town and, inwardly, I hope Noah will fall asleep and kiss me... uh... no, well uh... what's happening to me? Why do I want Noah to kiss me so badly? I must be tired... my tests were yesterday, after all. Yeah... that's it, fatigue and delirium... nothing else."
