Cody's diary

"After managing to escape from the research center, the Black Viper obviously betrayed us. What's more, a 2nd one was lying in ambush. So Noah and the 1st Viper aimed at each other, while the 2nd and I aimed at each other. "Why did you draw a weapon other than the one Noah gave you?" I asked the 1st Viper, "Because I'm not stupid. It's bound to end in a bloodbath," I said, "Besides, we're still relatively close to the research center. "We were in the negotiation phase with the Vipers. I finally figured out what to say, "We're all letting each other go," "What? What about our mission?" asked Cody, shocked, "Gotta be grateful. One of the Vipers helped us escape from the research center. However, we're not giving up on the idea of arresting you," I explained. The Vipers looked at each other, the 2nd lowered his weapon and said "Fine... we're fine with that." but, after a pause, he said "But first..." then the 1st Viper changed his target and fired at Cody while the 2nd threw a smoke bomb. "CODY!" I called, but I couldn't see through the smoke. All I could hear were grunts. When the smoke had cleared, the Vipers had evaporated and Cody was on the ground, his arm shot. "Noah..." he had called to me, I rushed to him, 'It'll be okay, don't worry.' I reassured him. I took off my sweater and used it to make a tourniquet. "I think you got lucky," I said, 'You think so?' complained Cody, suffocating in pain, "What I mean is, you're not dead. The pain is certainly unbearable, but I don't think it affected any organs or bones or muscles. It just went through the skin. But hey, I'm not a doctor, so we'll have to go back to the Nest," I explained. Cody didn't respond. He'd just fallen unconscious without my noticing.
