The Ace & The Queen of hearts

Chapter 15

Melody POV

I began to wake up and this time my memory was over flowing of all the recent events. I moved my hand on the bed to feel around for Ace. He wasn't there my eyes shot open and my vision cleared. I sat up and the pain shot into my shoulder from moving to fast.

"Oh your awake." Her sweet voice made me smile. I looked at the door where she just walked in from and smiled at bay. She set her book down and I saw a letter on top. Bay came to the side of my bed and hugged me.

"How are you feeling Sis." Bay said as she sat next to me.

"I feel like crap This damn wound is more painful than it looks." I pointed at it and bay seemed to look sad.

"I'm sorry..." bay added and I patted her shoulder and smiled at her.

"It's okay I don't blame you." I said and she smiled. "no offense but do you know where ace is at?" I asked and suddenly her frown appeared again but this time she grabbed the letter that was on top of her book and handed it to me.

"I saw him on my way here and he told me to give you this... There's something else..... Ace is leaving and I think you really should read this letter first." When Bay finished all I could think about is the words ace and leaving. I decided to open the letter to get some answers.

Dear Melody,

I'm not so good with explaining my feelings or even talking to people, but you're different and I want you to know a few important things.
~First this letter is to let you know that I'm in charge of taking down teach. I don't know how long it will take and I can't promise for my return anytime soon but if you are reading this then that means I'm probably long gone.
~Second Congratulations on your new position as division 4 commander. I know you'll lead a bad ass division.
~finally what I was trying to tell you on the top deck that night was

I love you

I will return and when I do I hope you'll be what I'm coming home to.

I had to reread the message over and over again to comprehend what he was trying to say but it was like all of it was unreal. Bay was talking to me but it was like she was in a distance.

Ace is leaving. Ace.

I jumped out of bed ignoring all the nurses and bay trying to hold me back. I blocked out the pain in my body and made a run to the top deck but on my tail was all of the nurses with needles and first aid kits. Which just made me run faster because I hate needles.

I turned a corner and ran into a group of crew mates one of them being Marco. they were all having normal conversations until they saw me and I guess they were surprised when they saw my wound opening up and all the blood and then I heard bay behind me.

"MARCO STOP MEL!!" That's what bay yelled and as if something clicked Marco reached out for me but instead I kicked him back and that's when the other crew mates began to reach for me. I started to fight my way through.

I was being scratch and punched and grabbed but I kept moving to the top floor and when I made it to the deck I could see the figure in the distance.

"ACE!!!!" I yelled and he stopped in his place almost ready to jump in his striker. Tears filled my eyes as the pain was finally filling my body. The nurses finally caught up and one stuck a needle in my thigh things were starting to get blurry but I kept my eyes on ace. I pleaded for him not to go even for him to turn around and just look at me that's all I wanted was for him too look at me.

His head was turning and I was about to see his face but then the anesthesia kicked in and everything went black.

"Ace." his name fell off my lips softly.

I never saw Ace again.
