chapter thirty-three, how wonderful life is.
IT WAS THE PERFECT START FOR THE DAY, the married couple had finally come home from Italy. France was buzzing with life, the jitters and excitement of their future King and Queen coming home again had everyone filling up the square. The carriage the two road in bumped and pulled against the crobble road, the undesguiseable cheers of their people giving them a swell in their heart.
"They're exited," Francesca smiled, her arm intertwined with Aaron's as they sat in the sunshine filled carriage.
"For you, no doubt," Aaron kissed her forehead, his hand caressing her hair. A rosy flush of heat arose onto the girls cheeks, her smile wide and her heart racing with love. Her hand resched out to clasp his, her lips pressing a soft kiss to his perfect clouds. Love poured through the kiss, along with passion, affection, desire, need and belonging.
Aaron pulled her closer, her body tucked delightfully against his side. Their lips moved in unison, the uniting of their souls. The cheers were zoned out, it was only the two of them. Until the end of time.
Aaron reluctantly pulled away, a soft smile on his face. The crinkle of his sparking eyes, the smile lines on his face that were so prominent. He was a happy guy. It was all things that Francesca found herself swooning at.
"What?" He asked, pushing back a strand of hair that fell in front of her face. Francesca couldn't help but take his hand in hers, her eyes sparkling with love and adoration.
"You're perfect," she whispered, her lips wet with her words. She had thought the world and more of her husband, she could now never understand how people would call him cold. Although, that rumor had dissipated once Francesca had arrived in his boring life, instead, he was now told to be extremely protective of his bride. And it was true.
Francesca cupped his cheek, feeling his soft skin underneath her fingertips. The smile she wore widened as he leaned into her touch, her heart swelling with love and affection.
The carriage they rode in came to a halt, the sound of King Agnar and Queen Victorias excited voices rung through the young couples ear drums. Aarons parents hadn't seen the two since they left for their honey moon two weeks ago, they were beyond excited for the arrival of the two.
Aaron stepped out of the carriage, his hand extended to help his wife out as well. Francesca took his hand, gracefully stepping out of the carriage. Her dress fell to the floor elegantly, her skin glowed under the sun and her hair cascaded perfectly down her shoulders. She looked perfect and happy.
"Welcome home," Agnar warmly greeted the two, a genuine smile on his face.
"We're glad to be back," Aaron replied, his tone laced with a touch of formality.
Victoria's eyes gleamed with delight as she hurriedly went to embrace her son, her hands cupping his cheeks. Her smile widened as her eyes then landed onto her new daughter-in-law
"Darling," Victoria smiled, enveloping Francesca in a warm hug. Her eyes sparkled with affection as she pulled away to take in her beauty. "You look absolutely beautiful."
"Thank you," Francesca replied, her voice filled with a hint of bashfulness. Her cheeks flushed lightly as she accepted the compliment, though she couldn't help but feel a warm glow at the heartfelt approval.
Victoria beamed, her hands gently clasping Francesca's as she held her at arm's length to get a better view.
"You know, I've never seen my son look this happy before," Victoria shared, her eyes softening as they glimmered with a tender warmth. "I have a feeling that you have an incredible part to play in that."
Francesca's cheeks flushed a deeper shade of pink, a mix of surprise and delight dancing in her sparkling eyes. Her heart swelled with an indescribable joy as she realized the impact she had on her husband's happiness. "I...I don't know what to say," Francesca stuttered, her voice catching slightly. She had always strived to be a good partner, but knowing she made such a significant difference in Aaron's happiness filled her with a mix of pride, gratitude, and a touch of disbelief. "It warms my heart to hear that," Francesca smiled, her hand gently pressing against her chest. "I love him deeply, and knowing that my love can make his world brighter... it's truly the greatest feeling in the world for me."

The next morning
As Francesca's eyes adjusted to the morning light, her gaze drifted over to the empty space beside her in bed. A slight frown creased her brow as she sat up, her hand reaching out to trace the indent still lingering in the pillow where her husband had been laying. A quiet sigh slipped through her lips as Francesca's fingertips lingered on the indentation in the pillow. A sense of longing and uncertainty tugged at her heart as she wondered where Aaron was at this hour.
She gently lifted the covers aside and slipped out of bed, her feet touching the cool floor. Glancing down at herself, she realized she was still clad in her nightgown. With a small huff of frustration, she hurried over to her wardrobe, rummaging through it for something appropriate to wear.
As she sifted through her gowns, each one more extravagant than the last, she finally settled on a light lavender morning dress. It was modest yet beautiful, the fabric soft and flowing around her figure.
The sunlight danced through the window, casting a warm glow over her as she finished primping in front of her large mirror. Francesca gave her reflection a critical once-over, her gaze roaming over the curve of her back, the draping of the fabric over her shoulders and the delicate tulle sleeves.
Satisfied with her appearance, she turned away from the reflection, her eyes catching a glimpse of the empty bed behind her. She couldn't shake the nagging feeling of worry and irritation that crept over her, the fact that her husband seemed to have left her bed so early irked her.
Francesca wandered through the halls of the castle, finally finding her husband in his study. "Aaron?" Her soft voice tore through the silence like a knife. Aarons head whipped up, a bright smile appearing on his face.
"My love," He stands up, crossing the room to get to his wife. His hands rested on her hips as Aaron pulled her into a soft, tender kiss.
"Good morning," Aaron smiled, his eyes sparkling with love and adoration. Francesca murmured the words back to him, nuzzling into his chest.
"What are you working on?" Francesca asked softly, her heart calming from the panic she felt when she couldn't find him.
"Coronation plans."
"Sounds boring."
"It is," Aaron chuckled, kissing her forehead. He held her for what felt like hours, his heart full with happiness and love. "I love you so much, my queen."
"I'm not your queen yet, baby."
"You'll always be my queen," he teased, poking her side with a lopsided grin.
"God, you're so cringy," Francesca giggled, nuzzling into him even more.
"Shh, baby, just kiss me." And she did. The kiss was sweet, tender and loving. It held every emotion the two felt. It was perfect.
